The other thing I've heard is that he removes his watermark because it is some copyright thing. Twitter comics for sharing have no watermark, copyrighted comics on his site have them.

Sure, from an objective level it's competent, but the stylization, posing, and character designs (all the ACTUALLY important parts of an artstyle) all took a major downgrade whenever you compare them. What's the point of a "fairy tale" artstyle if everything that the artstyle gets used for is flat and incomprehensible from a message standpoint?

I tried to look it up and all I could find was that he was supposedly born in 1972, which makes sense because I know he worked in the comic book industry in the 90s but had trouble meeting deadlines. Apparently he was a nightmare for the Sinfest collections Dark Horse put out, according to an old blog post before he went feminazi.

If 72 is accurate, he'd be 52, unless his birthday has already happened. Which means the feminist ideology was part of a mid-life crisis, which would explain a lot, dude was trying to be young and hip with the kids, but failed miserably. He might have a kid and be married, and is now taking on the role of husband with more passion than his feminist and left-leaning bullshit ever got him. But as we've said, he never reveals anything about himself so it makes sense.

Although this reminds me of when Ryan Sohmer had a daughter, and then a few years later had Rayne do some feminist lectures. If Tat had a daughter in 2012 and reacted the same way, it'd make sense. And even more, considering the transition arc he did last year where a dad is able to save his daughter from being a trans person.

Now if I were to speculate baselessly further, assuming the girl in question was a leftist type he knew from college the explicit radfem shit he became fixated on may have been a crude imitation of what he saw on her social media at the time and something he hoped would impress her enough to forgive him. Eventually however I suspect he became embittered at the continued lack of success in operation "torch my shitty webcomic to impress a girl who hates me" and this reflected in him now becoming fixated on pro troon/porn "handmaids" in some backhanded way of insulting her, which then devolved further into him smearing increasingly edgetard right wing schtick all over himself, driven by both obsessive spite and likely untreated mental illness as well as the fact he was finally getting random bits of praise from the edgetard right sphere.

I assumed this was it, but I had no idea he was that old. I found him via radfem tumblr where he is still decently popular, I don't really know the pre-radfem stuff. So going radfem has worked to get him some online female attention if that was what he wanted, probably more when he first switched. The current arc is very boring and dragged out, I think to avoid current events because he doesn't like that Luigi is popular with women, possibly jealous. The whole arc so far has been grab your pitchforks so the problem isn't that Luigi allegedly picked up a gun.

Also one of the main appeals about it is the art style for me, I think it's good, but I'm not an artist.

I don't know how long it's been since he's done it, but he would periodically do a strip where characters would stumble into the "Reality Zone" where they suddenly look more real-life realistic instead of cartoon characters. Usually only in the large Sunday strips. But that does show he has the talent. Not to compare, because they're nothing alike, but Bill Watterson was the same -- usually they were simple comic-strip drawings but he would sometimes draw Calvin and Susie as realistic adult humans for lulz, etc.

I went digging around a bit on /co/'s archives, and it seems to me that: he wanted to draw this stuff for a while (around the reboot?), he made more money off it before he closed his Patreons, and he was hesitant doing certain commissions to keep his fetishes away from Bomango (mostly). What I noticed was that the last page of the reboot was posted in mid 2020- around the time the lockdowns and Floyd riots started getting bad. He also ranted about Trump on and off. A lot of it is rumors and conjecture but the best way I can summarize it is that he got sick of Bomango, couldn't keep up with the commissions, and that the lockdowns worsened whatever terminally online tendencies he had, fetishes and all. You can actually see it in his progression from his Gorillaz influenced style to Amazon anime-ish style to hyper. /co/ insists that he's happier but I don't think so. You can see echoes of his older work in there, yet there's less effort put into parts like rendering and stylization (not even speech bubbles). Even his faces are less expressive.

Basically slippery slopes are slippery and the coomer rabbit hole is dangerous.
