On the "Fork in the Road" OMB thing.

This is a typical Elon playbook, and not really an Elon playbook, but something large companies do. Varies by company but usually they give you 2-8 weeks of pay per Year of Employment (YOE). Given these are Feds, a lot of them probably already have 10+ years so they'd be at 5-20+ months of pay, although usually there would be a cap of 10-12 months. So 8 months isn't really that much from that perspective, although for most people who would just get laid off with nothing it's a lot.

This method has a few benefits:
  • One set of people that are going to accept are the ones who know they're the most likely to be fired, so you're naturally culling the worst of your workforce
  • Another set are people near retirement, that also probably aren't doing a lot of work
    • This is why they do "paid administrative leave", so that people that are ~8 months out from hitting some Social Security/Medicare cap will accept it and just retire early
  • Another set are people that are unhappy in the job, which, one again, is a good set of people to get rid of
  • It's voluntary, so the PR against it isn't as bad as forced mass layoffs
  • It circumvents the Unions
  • It has less secrecy, people generally feel fine informing their coworkers if they decided to accept, this helps the coworkers to know what's coming vs random mass layoffs
The main negative I know of is that the best of the best will look at it as a way to resign, work on their skills for 8 months, then just get a new job since they know they can get one easily. Although these are fed workers so size of that pool of people is probably much smaller than the circles I run in.

I've personally been through this type of layoff before and it was actually a very good experience, at least compared to normal layoffs. Out of the people we lost, around 80% were people that I thought were shitters vs 20% I thought were good. Less panic around "mass layoffs", more predictable, less hurt feelings, etc.

one last reddit drop for the night.

where ARE the people who just a month ago were saying donald trump is a NAZI? should they not be organizing to end the threat of the nazi taking over their country?

i don't know what to say about this one. did you really think they cared for you before now?

so far my all-time favorite has been discovering people who apparently turned to the paranormal to handle trump's victory.

it's hard for me to conceptualize the amount of ignoring what you're saying that all these people have to do to be able to believe this.

Serious Mode: I keep seeing various reports on twitter that in spite of their hot air against Trump, a lot of countries are actually taking in a lot of their illegals/undocumented nationals being punted out. Is this true? Do you guys think we'll actually see enough brown people get kicked out and see America Brown Down percentage-wise in population? I'm hoping yes, but I need people smarter than I to tell me any likelihoods, projected numbers, and so forth.

I'm hoping that eventually Trump's admin figures out prices to make it so White people can actually afford families again, so any news on that front will also be appreciated.
There are 40 million foreign born people in the USA, of that number around 11 million are here illegally.

At the current pace, deporting ~1500 illegal aliens per day, it would take 20 years to remove all 11 million illegal aliens taking up space in our nation.

So no, not even close at the current rate.

However, they may not be moving at full capacity yet. They are targeting the worst offenders and mapping out the illegal immigrant communities to come back later. The dragnet may be coming down the line, time will tell.

The other thing to consider is voluntary repatriation. If the illegals here believe they will be deported soon, they may pack up their shit and leave on their own to avoid the additional difficulties that would result from deportation.

Me when I'm a happy merchant, my job is to make libs upset, and i just upsold to one of my regulars.
Remember he argued with Nancy Grace during the Duke Lacrosse scandal. That was when he was running the student paper at Duke with random activists fucking with him. He’s Trump’s strongest Jew.

I’ve been scanning Reddit looking for the meltdown and I haven’t seen it yet. Maybe the bots haven’t been updated after the spending freeze earlier in the day.
Edit: I’m late but I don’t think the highly upvoted fed posting has been posted here yet

What did he mean by this chyat?
3,500 upboats on a post crying about their mom unable to care for another child due to lack of gibsmedat bucks, how do you even get yourself in that situation?

In general I would agree with you, it's certainly reasonable and takes advantage of natural human needs and responses. However, may I cite that these are all a bunch of fucking government retards, and thus are barely human hanger-ons in bureaucracy bughives that have been self-reinforcing and self-protecting since the Prohibition and that this has only exponentially increased since fucking Roosevelt (the shitty one).

We got the emails, we're in cyber so we thought it was a phishing attempt so we deleted them.

I'm conflicted. I'm on my 1 year probationary period after 15+ years of being a defense contractor, and wouldn't really like to lose my job for the sole reason of being a spook.

But the levels of glut and sheer ammount of do-nothing remote faggots, $100 hammers, and disgustingly over priced bids on everything is obscene. If I'm collateral damage, it's whatever at this point.

Really people should be funding chemistry en masse rather than this gay computer stuff. Old chemistry patents are FULL of crazy stuff we could just bring back again with a modern technology base. Like W. H Dibble and Francois Charles Le Page's Hemacite/Bois Durci, which was a plastic precursor made from slaughtered livestock blood and sawdust to make a moldable material to make practically any form desired. Not to mention how kino it looks when made with powdered ebony wood.

So why was it discontinued? Not trying to be an ass, but before we go into trying to revive the old stuff, let’s read up on any health hazards. No need to jump onto the fire, right?

The cost of paying them to fuck off is less than the opportunity cost of having them work to sabotage Trump's agenda from within. Time is money, and he only has two years to unfuck the country before the midterms. This is the right move.

This is a good point I kind of glossed over since I'm coming from the private sector and have never worked in the public sector. I do see the redditors are already saying they'll ignore it and have the Union protect them. This email/directive could just be Elon jumping the gun, and there's a good chance he winds up with egg on his face as it goes through the legal channels.

these people literally have no idea what was frozen at all.

spoilers, it wasn't frozen at all, per the official federal student aid website

some tranny got their pussy surgery canceled from the fire and now cause of trump its permanently canceled
it's much funnier actually. this person is turning 26 because that's when your parents' insurance stops covering you in california. this is a fully grown adult man using his working parents' insurance to pay for tranny surgery.

They do look like Beaners.

I have a wagon burner buddy that I initially thought was Mexican. He didn't appreciate the insinuation.
A lot of Mexicans have Native American ancestry and specifically their ancestors came from the southwest.
I’m amazed at how Trump’s ban on Child Mutilation hasn’t caused a total meltdown of the left. After we had politicians and celebs wear “Protect Trans Kids” propaganda years back.

The left is smart enough to know basic reason won over. If they revive it when they get back in power the pitchforks need to be brought out because this shit was just that morally bankrupt.
They’re in shock. Give it a day or two.
