See, here's the thing: executives believe that current consumers are locked-in loyalists. That means they can do anything to chase the few percentage points of potential buyers left that do not buy the games because of various factors.

Yeah that shit is totally annoying and definitily indicative of woke devs, but again, easily ignored. Not excusing it, just pointing out the huge gulf between stuff mostly in the character creation and forced main quest dialogue around nonbinary characters and cringe writing throughout that wokescolds the player regardless of choices.

I haven't seen anyone post this here. EA officially stated in their press release that the game performed below 50% of approximated expectations. They hoped it would sell 3 million copies, but it 'engaged approximately 1.5 million players'. Bioware is most likely getting axed.

Here's the thing, you can have all that shit in your game and it's perfectly fine, noone'll care or be upset.
It's the moment you start preaching to the audience or all your characters are gross caricatures for what's being "represented", I do think 99.9% of true gamers don't fucking care *who* the MC of a game is or who the companions are, they'll accept a trans MC/companion, they'll accept "Muh DEI chin ugli womans", it's the moment that character has no definable or interesting character traits or story to get you invested to look past the "surface level" shit.
All this bloat in the Triple A industry of hiring for the sake of hiring people due to their pronouns/race has caused this, these people cannot write for shit and are being put in companies like Bioware or other "Gold Standard" studios but they haven't got the ability to replace those who left, who absolutely could write these characters and stories properly to a point we enjoyed them or didn't care about it.
