Is it really that surprising some Christian groups reacted badly to things like D&D when it was first introduced to them? If you have a strict interpretation of your faith then something like role-playing games with fictional deities in a world where that was a new concept wouldn't seem very good. With the benefit of hindsight it does seem overblown but at the time was it really that shocking? I’m as skeptical of SSRIs as any sensible person but I’m fearful of overcorrecting.

When it comes to depression exercise and nutrition both work better. There are head to head trials showing that exercise does better, and nutrition trials showing people coming off of medications with major depressive disorder.
The chemical imbalance hypothesis is bunk, SSRIs have major side effects, most people need to up the dose over and over again and find they aren't effective past a year or two, and there are much better options available.
As a last resort? Possibly.
But some clear and transparent replication studies VS conservative treatment options I think are warranted. I am highly skeptical they do much of anything beyond mask the actual problems underlying the disorder. Some of which are lifestyle related, such as having shit health generally, and some of which are related to upbringing and coping mechanisms in response to stress. I don't think they should ever be considered a long term solution either, only a short term tool while other options are being used.

They develop the fetish and then find outlets to try to spread their sex pestery, since a lot of them are shut ins, this is usually through nerdy hobbies.
