I'm inclide to agree with this but only so far that google dose not want to implement 60min adds becase they could have played 60 1min adds in that timeTbh this just seems like a glitch/mistake and then an automated AI written email response.
There's literally zero possibility that Google genuinely wants to implement unskippable hour long ads. Like let's be realistic here
Natural selection, we can't let nature kill off the weak or stupid anymore but we can make sure stupid or lazy parents lobotomize their kids and ruin their prospects at the future. That's just how it is, nothing you can do but to make sure you're not that parent.I wonder how this will affect the children growing up on tablets. Not saying us adults didn't suffer ads as children but it didn't seem so bad. Especially us older adults. We'd see ads on TV, or billboards, or whatever. But holy shit the more and more intense the digital age gets where screens are in every single fucking corner of society. Having kids grow up being lobotomized with ads. I wonder how that will play out.
Children are being brain rotted with ads in horrifying ways. It use to be ad agencies had to actually... ya know work for promotion of products. Now it's all just mass spamming screens.
Poor kids.
Maybe they're expecting people to fall asleep and let the motherfucker play for the entire time.
I've read about exactly this happening. A guy would play white noise over YouTube while he slept, Google figured out the guy's sleep schedule, and very long advertisements started playing in the guy's sleep without him even being aware of it. Notice the only entity who loses here is the advertiser. Google's advertising business is basically useless, and little more than donating money. The only way I could see this working is if someone slept with their TV on, but why would they place 1-hour unskippable ads on PC, where it is sure not to work?
'3-hour long unskippable gay sex scenes' (Ssethtzeentach) are coming closer and sooner to a dystopia near you.YouTube now can show you 60-minute unskippable ads
You can also use the “Playlist” feature in Brave for mobile. It’s nice little feature that lets you download videos from many websites. Only downside is that you can’t really access the files outside of Brave, so you can’t really use it for archiving. But it works great for watching things offline. And for downloading YouTube videos, at least on mobile, yt1s usually works
You can still record the video on OBS and save it on your computer. Granted, you will have to edit the ads out, but I guess this is the closest thing we got now. There is no workaround any more. They have closed the exploit that was being used by all of the frontends. You now need to provide cookies/authorization from an account that is age-verified to receive the video from the server. That is it, there is no unfucking this pig.
Missing from this list:"Fuck, another 9 hour ad! There's no way in hell I will pay for their bullshit subscription service, but I refuse to watch another second of this crap. What do I do?"
Internet browsers:
-Brave: https://brave.com/
Chromium-based, Brave is available on all commonly used platforms, including Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, and Android
-LibreWolf: https://librewolf.net/
Privacy-focused fork of Firefox, basically the Firefox version of Brave. No mobile version exists yet
Browser extensions:
-uBlock Origin: https://ublockorigin.com/
LibreWolf/Firefox version: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ublock-origin/
Also, remember to enable and update all filter lists in the extension settings
-AdNauseam: https://adnauseam.io/
Designed to waste advertiser money and keeps score of how much money advertisers have wasted on you. However it conflicts with other adblockers including Brave Shields. I couldn't get it to work on Brave, but it works on LibreWolf without much hassle
Android (phones, TV, etc.)
-SmartTube: https://github.com/yuliskov/SmartTube
This one is perfect for Android TV/Fire Stick devices, but it doesn't work well on phones or tablets if you're using the touch screen.
-NewPipe: https://f-droid.org/en/packages/org.schabi.newpipe/
Perfect for phones and tablets. Also works on Android TV devices but navigation can be cumbersome.
-Firefox on Android supports extensions, including uBlock Origin
iOS
-If your device is not jailbroken, Brave Browser or DuckDuckGo Browser are your only options. Otherwise you will have to look into DNS or network-wide adblock options

- go do something productive instead
Also you're all retards for thinking this was deliberate by YouTube and not some kind of mistake or bug.
