Meh. It just boils down to having seen this shit before in companies(including being on the side getting laid off). Once you've seen it once, so long as you're in a position to have any idea of the most basics of how the business is run, you can see the shit coming a mile away. A cashier at a retail store isn't in a position to be able to have the information to spot it coming, but managers, buyers, anyone involved in anything but the lowest level of operations, will all see this shit coming from a mile away.

But these game devs? It's a project focused job. If you're not currently on a project... why would you expect to be kept around? Nothing in the pipeline, they're having people publicly admitting that they need to start or restart preproduction on me5, and these people have been at bioware for 10-15 years? Not noticing how they're getting paid to do nothing because they didn't have a new project to transition into? LOL. ok. At best some of them may have either been hoping their seniority would protect them, or hoping they get a month or two severance.
