I know nothing about Veilguard other than people think it sucks (a rundown would be nice, because all I gather is that its woke and I have been looking for more). However, regarding EA: if they dont shut down Bioware it will be astounding to me. I'm 37 years old, EA has literally been snapping up good developers and studios since I was in middle/high school and immediately ruining them and shutting them down forever. This has been going on for decades and even happened when the games were successful. If Bioware somehow stays around after this. that would be nuts.

Writing is terrible, gameplay is horribly linear because it was originally supposed to be some sort of co-op online maps for repeated runs, woke shit isn't just woke - dragon age was always woke - it's inserted in the most jarring way possible that rips you out of the fantasy medieval setting immediately, writing is bad, characters ugly, builds and items are very limited, terrible fashionsouls, all the characters are player-sexual (which they previously encountered massive criticism for by the woke crowd for DA2, but now suddenly it's a good thing????) and not a single one of the romances is well-done, no coomer scenes, the story ends up basically literally killing off most characters from previous games off-screen as a final fuck you to fans so that only a complete retcon of DAV could ever save it and what company would want to go near that pile of shit

Concord was a mediocre game with cool spaceships that people got mad over because "REEEE BLACK WOMAN IN VIDYA GAEMS". If a black woman connects with it, then good for her, but it wasn't made for you, so there's no reason to view it any differently from the many mediocre, forgettable games that come out every year.

"It wasn't made for you" - Yeah it seems like it was made for a few hundred or so people according to Steam Charts? Can't target an audience that small and expect the game to profit or the servers to stay up.

Veilguard is not only their third flop in a row; it's the first one that is legitimately franchise-killing. Anthem was new territory; Andromeda was confined to a completely different galaxy with only a few tenuously linked characters like Garrus's father (I suppose one might consider it a gaiden game). Veilguard was the greatly anticipated followup to a game that ended on multiple cliffhangers a decade ago -- and with such a disastrous resolution, where is the story supposed to go now? Their best bet might be to figure out what the next age is called and advance the timeline another 50 years so everything that happened in this trainwreck is no more than vaguely-recalled history.

If BioWare somehow survives to produce ME5, then yes, as others have said then I think ME5 will be the last strike. But I really have my doubts they're going to be given the opportunity.

It's not fair that Bioware gets to fuck around with several back to back flops while Maxis got turned into a zombified corpse.
