I find it funny how the US spent its entire relationship with Republic of China fucking them over in every way every time, to a point where we are to blame for all of Mao's atrocities thanks to the Marshall Mission. We then betrayed them again on the UN stage in favor of the Chicoms. And yet, they are in full support of us and I don't hear stories of Taiwanese trying to subvert or ruin the US.

Meanwhile we do everything to support and empower the People's Republic of China and they hate us and want to destroy and ruin us.

Likewise, it was the Republic of China taking the full brunt of the Japanese assault and fighting them tooth and nail. The ChiComs just hid in the mountains and took potshots aside for like one battle (And the general of that battle was purged by Mao anyways later on). Yet Taiwan has great relationships with Japan while China focuses much of its historical and political identity on hating Japan.

I think my area was #1 in the world for Bernie Sanders support in 2015. It's all anyone under 50 could talk about. Even bands and comedians would comment on the Bernie love when they toured here. Bumper stickers all over everything from rickety old work vans to Teslas and Maseratis.

Then he supported Hillary. It pissed off the independents that loved him, and the democrats didn't give a shit. They just wanted a W. Bernie limped away with most of his supporters, but they had lost a lot of their passion and excitement for him.

Then comes 2024, and RFK Jr. decides to run for president. I swear to you, I've never seen so many political signs outside the inner city than what I saw last year for Bobby. People had climbed 30ft up into trees to staple and hang Kennedy signs so if the city/county wanted to take them down, they had to send out heavy equipment. Robert Kennedy is absolutely loved and revered out here by democrats and independents alike.

The point of the story is that all the "little people" that love(d) Bernie are the exact same people that love RFK Jr. now. There's probably a 70%+ overlap. The fact that they're using Bernie as an attack dog against him is really pissing off a lot of people, young and old, that already feel dejected by the DNC, and if they block Bobby, people might riot. Not really, but it could be the coup de grace for democrats in the rural/suburban Pacific Northwest. The more red the outer counties get, the more irrelevant the bug hive vote gets.
