I don't think there's any confusion. Normies know what woke is, even if they can't define it properly. Pretty much every complaint about "what is or isn't woke" comes from lefties trying to obfuscate and win points for their side, but it's not working. Even Trumps anti DEI order included "renaming" as one of the rules, because everybody is aware they keep changing the name every time the normies are on to them.
Small power level. I was talking on a Discord about EA confirming Dragon Age Veilguard was a failure, and a bunch of people who normally won't shut up about anti-capitialism and "owning the CHUDs" suddenly became corporate bootlickers. Their main point of contention was that when the game released, Jason Schrier bragged "Get woke, go bro- erm top the charts!" and they were livid, Jason wasn't wrong, it's not legally defermation therefor he's right, trying to get me to define woke, why did I have to bring Jason into this, why not blame capitalism for unreasonable sales expectations, and eventually blocking me and getting mods to ban the word "woke".
