With all the talk about the new press secretary, I'd just like to remark that I'm so happy that the Trump White House dumped all the sign language interpreters for the screen space (like 50%!) that they were hogging, a hope that I've had for such a long time.

Sign language interpreters are so stupid. Just use fucking closed captions. I get it if there's a deaf person in the audience—actually, no; fuck the deaf. If they can't hear an event then they shouldn't be there.

Guys, it drives me insane that the country is finally being forced back on track whether it likes it or not, and all anyone I know can do is bitch and moan all day long. Everyone just assumes I’m a liberal and keeps approaching me to commiserate about deportations and ending DEI. A staggering number of people have cut me off. I feel like I’m losing my mind. And what gets me is they don’t understand why difficult things need to happen, all they can do is whine that they are difficult.
You know one thing I'm so glad to not hear about nonstop? Fucking abortion. Man that sure fell off a cliff from major rant to absolutely nobody cared after the election.

Same shit with England. People don't realize that the British straight up lie to Americans about how much they love the NHS. It's a fucking disaster if you want anything done beyond the most routine of checkups or the worst of emergencies. If you have anything wrong that isn't deemed urgent, you will wait years.
Why would they lie about that? Sunk cost fallacy?

They complain about the price of eggs when inflation should never have been allowed to skyrocket. They complain about cutting back wasteful programs when those programs should never have existed. They complain about the pain of deportation when any rando showing up should never have been allowed in the first place. They complain about withdrawing support for other nations when we never should have gotten involved. And so on and so on.

Yes, there is a cost to fixing all these things. It isn’t going to be easy, and we‘re going to struggle for a while. But they don’t seem to understand that if they had just slapped some neosporin on the wound when it opened maybe we wouldn’t be going through such a painful debridement right now.

It will never end. The price of eggs will go down, and they will screech. Planes will stop falling out of the sky, and they will screech. I’ve well and truly had it. Relocation is the only option. I’m going to go help make some unspecified state great again if it kills me.
Tell them to shut up and cope with it. It's only been 11 days, they still have 4 years to go.
Make sure to hand them the suicide hotline number and see how they react.

Is that you, John Wayne? Is this me?

One of my hardest tasks at work is hiding my power level when people start complaining to me about shit that I'm 100% in favor of. "Oh, these poor immigrants, boo hoo!" I just poker face it and schmooze my way through. If anyone asks me a pointed question, I play dumb and tell an irrelevant anecdote to try and change the subject. It's not worth arguing with the people who think they know best, especially in a corporate environment.

Sign language interpreters are faster and more reliable than closed captions.

this does bring up a great question, why are so many zoomers so rough looking? they all seem to age like boomers. like you can't tell the difference between a teen movie and a porno with how bad they're all aging.
Stress, amphetamines, benzos, no sunlight, less exercise, and nutritionally deficient food.

Social media and its consequences have been a disaster for the human race.

Lack of physical activity, fasting, and poor diet perhaps? Also the whole irony-brain culture leads to a lack of self worth in making oneself look good?

My diet isn't great, but I do a lot of walking, drink a lot of water, and abstain from eating for hours and I look good for a zoomer.

I hate to admit this, but for a brief time I supported Bernie. I did not have any bumper stickers, or merch, and did not call myself a Bernie bro. I was just naive about socialism and not paying that close attention to politics.
I remember distinctly when I changed my mind. He said he wanted to make America like Scandinavia and how great they are.
I have cousins in Scandinavia and had heard the good, the bad, and the ugly. Not the glossy sugarcoated version most people hear about.
A split second later I decided he was a retard and didn't know what he was talking about at all if he could say something like that with so much confidence. The spell was broken, and I began to scrutinize much closer, and pay more attention to the political scene in general, after which I shifted hard to Trump.
I even bought one of the white/gold MAGA hats, though I've never worn it. I just bought it because I thought it was funny.
That's not on you, you got honeydicked the same way tons of others did. For some, the scales fell from our eyes earlier, some later, but the common thread is that we saw through the shit at some point or another.

So long as one learns from it, there's no shame in that. It's part of being human.

They have to cope with the fact America is better. They try really hard to get a one up on us constantly. "Erm we have cuisine you have borger" "we have free ealth care" "we don't have school shooters" etc etc
Although preferable to the UK's socialized system, USA healthcare is a bloated, inefficient mess in need of reform. Switzerland's system is worth a look.

Our food sucks. I have a few East Asian coworkers and they look so sickly and out of shape compared to Asians in East Asia. Same thing with White people but most assume Europeans are all hitting the gym and running a 5k daily when in reality smoking is still popular in the EU and they drink heavily.
