Planes don't fall out of the sky into crowded cities everyday, just sayin'.

1,150 general aviation accidents in 2023, with 307 fatalities. You can look at a map on the NTSB website for locations.

Do you think "crowded cities" have some sort of invisible shield that stops small planes crashing on top of them?

I mean some of those GA accidents are "Oh no, a student pilot clipped a taxiway light" or "Oh no, I forgot to put the gear down and didn't land so much as I belly-flopped on the runway and fucked up the whole bottom of the fuselage and now the engine has to get rebuilt". But otherwise, about 300 fatalities a year sounds about right. General aviation is always riskier, it isn't nearly as regimented as Part 121 or 135 and you don't have procedures to follow the checklists that you need procedures to follow through before you can run the procedure following checklist.

People usually assume “the captain” of an airplane would be the guy flying, but he’s the boss overseeing everything with PIC behind the stick, (on the big ass commercial passenger planes, they have a cockpit crew of 3-4, but the pilot in command is the guy doing the actual flying everyone else takes care of other matters so the pilot can maintain focus on his job)
PIC is the one legally responsible for the safety and operation of the flight, but not necessarily the one manipulating the controls. So on most flights, PIC is almost always the captain, unless someone is logging PIC time for training or building hours.

Also, even the biggest of the big iron (777, 747, A380, A340, etc.) is just a Captain and F/O these days. All the automation eliminates the need for a navigator or flight engineer. They'll have a relief crew for long flights, but it's been a 2-man flight deck for a long time now. After Tenerife and the implementation of CRM (Crew Resource Management), responsibility is no longer split between ranks, however. In any given phase of flight, one guy will be "pilot flying" and the other will be "pilot monitoring." PF's job is to have his eyes outside flying the plane and watching for traffic, while the PM keeps his eyes inside and watches things like engine instruments, weather radar, navigation display, and talks to ATC. Who is what for a given flight is usually decided between the pilots themselves on any given day or based on some company SOP. But regardless, rank and seniority are intentionally downplayed, and both pilots are able (and heavily encouraged) to speak up if they notice something is off. It's a team sport these days, rather than just "the captain's word is law."

Oh man, don't get people started.

The person logging PIC does not have to be acing PIC in the USA, other countries may vary.

Logging: Sole manipulator of the controls of an aircraft you are rated for, category, class and type(if needed).

Acting: Responsible for the flight. Must be rated and have any endorsements and other ratings.

For instance, an instrument rated pilot can let a non instrument pilot in the right seat fly in instrument weather conditions and the pilot flying can log PIC and the instrument pilot will be acting PIC and can log(if they're not an instuctor) ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

Good times.

If they're going to dick people around and not give the pilot's name, how long does it take for a FOIA to get the pilots name? This is absolute bullshit and they're covering for something or someone. I don't care what the family wants, this is a matter of public record.
long enough for it to be out of the public consciousness, just like the trannyfesto

private pilots vs commercial pilots/ aircraft to fly.
Nope, exactly the same. In the USA. Except DC, there's 'special' rules there. Military also have some areas they're allowed the rest of us aren't.

Now, sure, if I want to fly into LAX they might tell me to hold until next Tuesday, but that's just trying to sequence a slow plane into their arrival flow.

The names and pictures of children and their parents that the Army just killed can be shown all over the media and such, less than 24 hours after the crash occurred. Same with the two male pilots.

But the sole female pilot has to stay hush hush over 48 hours later. I’m not buying that it’s simply an average Joe family wanting their sister or daughter to be unnamed. Something’s up with it.

And at some point, people that worked with her are going to notice that they can’t talk about her in public, and that she isn’t coming around anymore. If autists are releasing TikToks and other government info because of video games that they play, her name will get out eventually.

They need time to scrub her social media I bet.

Most private pilots avoid congested commercial space and routes that require flight plans to go into major city airport airspace. (Not to mention cost of landing there) You can do it, but most bugsmashers tool around the more rural and open areas. Most of the private crashes occur at the smaller regional airports in the west and Midwest where you have lots of open air space. The fact entire regional airport system exist just so small craft can avoid the commercial arteries and options. (Ie most private planes fly out of Teterboro to avoid Newark, JFK and LaGuardia traffic and red tape)

The army stated it has been done at the request of her family. They have requested privacy, don’t know how long that will last.

She doesn’t exist. It was a sex worker being transported to her 3-star Major General John for some major naked PT but the military can’t admit that so need some time creating a ghost soldier and getting accomplices that totally knew her. No I haven’t taken my meds and no I don’t actually know how ranks work, why?

Into? Sure. That has problems and you gotta talk and squawk to get into bravo, but you can just take the VFR corridor if you want.

My point being that all civilian aircraft in the US have the exact same airspace access barring the occasional TFR and the DC SFRA. There's no special place that I can't fly that an airliner can.

And you're better off going to Hawthorne if you need to be in the LAX area anyway.

I’m obviously not advising anyone to ask this grieving widow, but I’m genuinely curious if the Eaves family were asked by the Army if they wanted his name released or not before it was.

If the military obeyed every families request to keep a name hidden, then you’d see more cases of it, such as a family being embarrassed that their son accidentally blew himself up in the sandbox. It’s not exactly a heroic way to die.

They will bend over backwards for high ranking members and their daughters, however. I’ve seen it myself when one of them was the base whore.
