Do people actually believe they r*ped someone? I looked into it and it seems like they got accused of purposefully having dog hair on them when they had sex with someone who was afraid of dogs. I understand hating them, but its dishonest to say they raped someone based on what is in the thread.

I absolutely think he RAPED someone. Maybe you could get me on a technicality that it was a mere sexual assault and he didn't go all Brando with the butter on some woman, but by his own words he was accused of assault and his main frustration was that she stopped contact with him but wasn't keeping quiet about it. Which despite his claims of her publicly smearing him, as far as I know whatever her side of the story is hasn't been revealed to the public at large, so all we have to go on is his innocuous dog hair explanation but simultaneously it is an act that he calls a mistake that he will regret for the rest of his life. The person we suspect it might have been has even dropped from the internet as a whole, so I suppose he must have been successful in girl talking her into keeping quiet somehow.
As much as we mock the "concent accident" term, I really don't know how else to interpret than "I am a rapist", especially when he views it as the inevitable in risky fetishes.

Agreed, but until he starts to face actual consequences for trying, a lower success rate is of limited value. Don't forget that CF, HE, and many others continue to refuse to act as infrastructure, most banks won't touch Josh or anything related to him, etc etc. Josh may have found a solution for now, but it is still very much a small i internet, and it's hard to imagine a site like KF managing to start up in the current climate, since it would not have Josh's opportunity to overcome gradually increasing opposition a bit at a time.

LFJ still has tremendous power and influence in the industry, his intimidation campaign is mostly in secret and thus hard to hold him accountable for, and he's been successful enough in censoring receipts of his bizarre consent accident confession that even if cultural trends take down his troon shield, he may be able to continue to slither along in the shadows of the tech industry by claiming it was all made up. On the bright side, he must have made a lot of powerful industry enemies in private, even if they are afraid to speak out. Whisper networks can help, as will his burning the bridge with Google.

The trend is clearly reversing, but there is much damage to be undone to the Internet and society at large to even get back to where we were a decade ago.
