you say that as a joke, but there's a village in my district (Thurnscoe) where all bus services after 6 pm were withdrawn due to kids on the council estate throwing bricks and breeze blocks at the buses, and endangering the drivers
bus companies really don't take that shit lying down

it's the same area where part of the main bypass road was shut for months because someone torched a car in one of the underpasses, and did major structural damage to the road deck
how they even got the car there is anyone's guess - the path leading up to it is barely wide enough to cycle down, let alone use a motor vehicle

You know usually as per the style of my posts in this thread I usually have some sort of quip, clapback or retort. But for this one I don't really have anything clever to say. See when arguing with this type of person they're failing the empathy test at such a low level that attempting to argue them is futile. The rational for NOT doing this is so basic at such a juvenile level that it almost doesn't need to be said, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you". It's simple, basic, yet completely lost on them.

Usually fuckcars has some sort of rational to try to justify their actions. Like let us say if you kick a dog there might be several rationales someone could give:

• The dog was about to attack me
• The dog was in my way
• The dog looked at me funny

I don't really know how to put this into words besides it's just evil/malice. This is more of a case of "I see the dog; I kick the dog".

The truck wasn't parked on the sidewalk. There was no mention of the driver offending anyone intentionally. It was just, there. They don't even give the standard response of "yeah it's kind of funny, but please don't actually do this".
They point blank say "yeah the truck was just there and I vandalized it what are you going to do about it".

I think in this case of senselessness there's not really a moral, lesson or takeaway for this sort of individual. Just sit back and let nature take it's course when the inevitable tire iron of the disgruntled owner finally connects with the soft part of their head.

Thanks for all the likes. I've been wanting to vent about those issues for a long time. I have some others, like the rampant parking problems downtown and how every street seems to be a one-way surprise (that might peg my location), but the ones I enumerated are my #1 complaints.

The really shitty part about all this is that these problems are expanding, not shrinking. I'll drive on roads that yesterday were perfectly fine, but today are now heavily mined with Godawful speed-bumps that WILL damage your car if you don't slow down to a crawl. I don't know who has the contract to add all this road acne, but they have to be making an absolute fortune. Meanwhile, the average car-swallowing pothole will remain unfilled for months on end.

Presumably because when cyclist whine at their 'progressive' friends instead of saying 'I don't want to ride because I have a car' they say it's too dangerous, plus their obsession with demanding that cycle lanes be placed on existing streets means the normal safe zone for opening car doors is taken for cycle lanes leads to hitting car open car doors when people get out of cars.

God forbid they be productive and work with local govt to create and use cycling routes on lower traffic alternative paths instead of demanding access to congested streets and then complaining when people get annoyed about having to lose parking or being held up by asshats on bikes.

Drives me nuts the council here gave them dedicated lanes on the 2 lane local side of the roads parallel to the train line and they never use it and instead always ride on the 4 lane highway that doesn't have shoulders since they squeezed the 4th lane instead...

Genuinely fucking sick of how its never enough despite all the concessions that have been made to them.
