It's starting to become like the modern Olympics: corrupted to hell, budget overruns, lack of local support, no impact on countries' economy, etc.

The one opening in Osaka soon, no one seems to give a shit, both audiences and participants.

With 100 days to go before the opening of the World Exposition in Osaka, public interest in the event remains low, with less than one in four people saying they want to visit the site, according to a recent survey.

The latest survey, conducted in October by the Mitsubishi Research Institute on 3,000 people, showed that 24.0 percent of the respondents expressed interest in attending the event in western Japan, a decrease of 3.0 percentage points from the previous survey in April.

Sources in the expo organizing group have said weaker sales are partly attributable to participants finding themselves unable to provide detailed information to the public on their planned exhibits due to construction delays. Some companies taking part, meanwhile, have not finalized their exhibit plans.

"There are still many countries that have not finished the interior and exhibition areas. We are doing our best to coordinate so that those countries can finish (their preparation) in time for the start of the expo on April 13," said Deputy Secretary General Manatsu Ichinoki.

It has yet to become pretty violent for the major SoCal cities in those protests that I can't really stay awake on my end. I feel that this time will be different since everyone else living there are getting pretty sick of their act. Once the sights are pointed towards that region for deportations, the area will finally be liberated from the worst.

Perhaps then the healing process can truly begin. It was a long time coming for Newsom and his cronies. :optimistic:

To be fair, if you look at the history of world’s fairs, they’ve always been this way. They weren’t profitable even back when Walt Disney was making rides and exhibits for them.

As for the Osaka one, literally the only thing that has people talking about it is the Vatican creating that loli mascot for their presence. And I think you already know the kind of art people are making of it.(is it extra heretical to draw porn of a child character meant to promote Christianity?)

i was just mostly shitting on that guy earlier, I wasn't even really that serious. I remember how pissed MSM and China got when one of the first calls Trump made after he took office was to Taiwan, I think he has a soft spot for them, and I don't think he will let China fuck with them.
