I seem to remember her saying even before it was leaked, it was already her best selling work ever, and yeah, leaking it gave her the opportunity to cry for more asspats and get even more sales/donations than she normally would have.

Maybe this is the social experiment she mentioned?

That would basically be a dream setup. The main reason being, she has a captive, guaranteed audience. They are absolutely obligated to be her fans/donate/agree on everything, etc. or be shunned and outed as a bad ally or whatever. I'm a bit of a web cartoonist and I'd kill for a deal like that.
