The Elder Scrolls

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
At the apex of my yung scrolls and truestl consumption, I finally caved and played morrowind.
I agree, I started Morrowind a couple days ago and it's nowhere as mind numbingly hard or complex as all the memes and jokes make it out to be.
Ah yes, the meme to "playing good games" pipeline. Not many know of its power.
So there's like a miniscule chance that this mod is actually real and releasing this year, but it would be cool if it was
Oh yeah I remember watching that. Every time I see this mod mentioned I giggle a little bit, either not coming out or if it does it'll be mediocre. So much nothing to hype over. Then they tried to do an ARG and-curious myself-I checked out their dicksword just to see what is found. Aside from reinforcing my opinion that dicksword is a hellhole arguably worse than plebbit, it was just a lot more nothing. Everything about this mod is just a lot of fucking nothing, honestly I'd have rather have them make several small mods like the original demo that they deleted for some reason. They'd arguably have more replayability, wouldn't take 200 years to make, and it wouldn't be the inevitable shitstorm on this game's aging engine that'll ultimately cause all sorts of issues if not used by itself.

And the worst part is, it has the same issue I have with Vicn's mods, while I do enjoy his mods it's just "hey Dark Souls is still popular, what if we add that to Skyrim because we can't possibly make anything in Skyrim grimdark without making it like Dark Souls." At least the assets look mostly original, even if the trailer itself looks like a mishmash of various grimdark elements done by other games and probably done better in said games. I mean fuck I nearly lost my shit when I saw Skull Knight, literally just Skull Knight. Their usage of an AI voice over-while I normally don't care-instead of maybe paying someone on fiver for a voice over does not inspire hope. Their website doesn't even exist anymore either, not that their Moddb is alive in any capacity. Not a single "hey guys, here's a quick update." More nothing. Speaking of "everything must be Dark Souls (or anime):"
I mean, more power to you, I don't mind and it's probably even fun, but I'll take shit like this over more Souls regarding Skyrim any day:

His mods are obvious homages to from soft games, but the quests are good and packed with TES lore. I was more invested in Vigilant than I expected to be. It works well.

Same, I don't dislike the From Software aesthetic, I've bought all their games for a reason.
But I see projects like Apotheosis and just wonder if it's all smoke and mirrors or actually genuine.

I say it only works well if you can stand the lore rape-age and Souls asset rips(?), because its really a good mod.

Can you really rape lore that gets violated with each instalment?

SKSE had been giving me the black screen of death every time I launched the game for a couple weeks, and tweaking my mod list did nothing to fix it. Then Microsoft forcibly updated my desktop to Win 11 yesterday and now the game works again.
Lol they forced updated your windows? Never heard of that before. Anyway, was going to ask if you had the right SKSE version but it seems you didn't. Maybe a driver issue was the original cause.
One bad load order here, one conflicting file there and then your whole game install and all your saves are cooked.
Saves definitely, I make new saves like I make cups of coffee, at least once a day. But your whole game install? Are you installing manually or something?
Hmm, maybe it's time to get the Gold Road DLC

I really should get back into ESO, either as a Necromancer, Arcanist, or melee class like Templar. Probably Necromancer but that Ascendant Knight set is calling my name as a Fighter lover.
...What?

Are you sure that's the right link?
Whoops, was linking that to someone else because he didn't believe that place was real. Some real nice looking whores there I'll say that much. Fixed, unlike my control key.

Windows has been force updating people to new OS's since they rolled out 10. I was planning on upgrading anyways since 10's support ends in October. As for the black screen issue, so many different things can cause it according to the steam forums. Anything from an outdated SKSE to driver issues like you said.

Posting new mods:
Vonwolfe has dipped his toes into modding for Starwind by overhauling Nar Shadda, the celebrated modder behind "Django's Dialogue" that adds 100s of new unique dialogue related to immersion to add flavour and modernise the dialogue system ( highlighting unherd topics in blue that was so popular OpenMW incorporated it into their engine ) and many other mods concerning new dialogue and textures with ElevenAI. I particularly love his "Idle Words" mods that uses AI based off the original lines to have a massive list voicelines to respond to your charcters faction alignment, stats, current gear and recent quests. He also adapted a brilliant mod that added Tribunal Priests to towns that would sermon using prayer books and Tribunal source material found from books in-game to even the 36 Lessons of Vivec. His textures on the artwork in NPC homes and murals of tombs was great too.
Sin City - A Starwind Mod

A large overhaul of Starwind's Nar Shaddaa city. You'll get to experience:
  • Massively reworked areas, especially the bars and marketplaces
  • Seven new quests
  • Hundreds of new lines of dialogue telling the story of Nar Shaddaa
  • Five new splash screens

Sermons and Preachers

Adds NPC preachers to temples across Vvardenfell reading aloud the voice recordings of 36 Lessons of Vivec.

Kruzhem's original wonderful mod had some fun original interpretations of priestly readings. I made this version for anyone who wanted voices that are closer to the original Dunmer voices.

In addition, this version has a female Dunmer in Gnisis reading the sermons - the original mod was all men.

This version is the 'Timetable' version from the original, which comes with the following notes:

"Timetable: you can listen to each sermon separately during a period of 30 in-game minutes, starting at 5 AM and ending at 23 PM (the simple formula for the time of the sermon you are interested in is s/2+4.5, where s is a number of sermon; e.g. if the targeted sermon is 30, the calculation is 30/2+4.5=19.5, i.e you can listen to the sermon 30 at 19.30 PM) -- except for Vedis Crosendas in Balmora Temple, he reads only 10 successive sermons during 1.5 hour periods;

A half an hour in-game is not enough to hear the whole sermon through with vanilla time pace, so I highly reccomend using
Pass the Time mod by Necrolesian
Clock Block mod by MementoMoritius
Set the timescale in Pass the Time menu at 7 and you should be able to listen to even the longest sermon (35th, 4 m. 10 s. of real time) during half an hour in game. Moreover, using this mod you would be able to quickly pass the time till the sermon you want to listen to."
Holy Art
Replaces all Velothi frescos in the game, which only had two designs, with eleven new ones from Lukkar, and one from Myzel.

View more of Lukkar's brilliant design work for Skywind at https://www.deviantart.com/lukkar/gallery/48995863/skywind

Cleaned with tesame.

Changelog
1.0 - initial release. Replaces all 40-something instances of velothi frescos with new ones.

Credits
Lukkar - mural designs for Skywind
Myzel - fresco 12, the anticipations of Almalexia and Sotha-Sil
Beautiful Books
This mod adds custom textures for the open book pages of 4 lessons of Viviec, the Homalies of Almalexia, and the House of Troubles.
There are three different variants of the House of Troubles.

Idle Talk

Adds over 200 new voice entries for NPCs, mostly using edited original voice files.
These are split across greetings and idles.

Greetings
Rival Houses:

Members of rival houses will now recognise your rival allegiance. Hlaalu will call Redoran stiff and stuffy, while Redoran will call Hlaalu fickly and untrustworthy.
Your rank in a house will be noted, and rival houses will respond with greater respect as you climb in rank. Some Houses *cough Telvanni cough* slower than others.

Faction Leader Respect:
Guards and members of your own House will respond differently if you are master of that house and have over 50 disposition with them.

Legion and Re-Legion:
The Legion, Imperial Cult and The Temple all have some unique greetings - even if you are not one of them.
The Legion may praise the Emperor, while the Imperial Cult and Temple will invoke their Gods or religious sayings.

Idles
Many more voice idles are added to male Dunmer. Lots of these are simply the Tribunal idles, which other mods have already added.
However, there are many original idles added, some of them split across factions. The Camonna Tong may curse the emporer, while House Hlaalu will mutter of ore and profit.
There are also idles added to speak about the Blight while the MQ is active. These are updated to speak about the Neravarine when the MQ is complete and the blight is cleared.

Raid - Gneommaal's Shrine - The very niche audience who play Morrowind Multiplayer on TES3MP seem to be experimenting with creating custom raid content for their serviers...

Inspired by the raids from World of Warcraft and other MMOs, I bring you Gneommaal's Shrine.

Gneommaal is a Dremora who has the ambition of becoming a Daedric Prince. He has been gathering his strength for thousands of years, and if left alone, his ascension will spell doom for all of Tamriel.

I made this to go along with TES3MP originally, but feel free to try it solo as well.

It includes three interiors, two bosses (with their own loot tables), custom loot, and challenging enemies to overcome.
The entrance is on the way up to the center of Red Mountain and the path is a different color so you can find it easier.

Recommended level: 30+
Recommended number of players: 2+
Finally, I've been personally been playing the quest mod Secrets of the Crystal City by OG MelchiorDahrk and it's been quite good!

I know they forcibly update versions of an OS (God knows how many hours of work gone in the blink of an eye), but OS to the next OS? Never heard of that nor know anyone who has had that happen to them.

That's what I'm talking about.

IIRC the documents made it sound like an Oblivion and Fallout 3 remake should have been released 3-5 years ago, and we haven't even gotten an official word about it. And official word from a Microsoft that has had Fable and Perfect Dark and Contraband announced for like half a decade now.

Console babies need to learn to watch a youtube video that's longer than 10 minutes and build a fucking PC and just play Oblivion. (or even Skyblivion if/when it comes out)
I watched a guy play morrowind mostly unmodded and he said "I read that spears are best used to stab" and not once did he talk about missing attacks cause he also read that you have to hold down the button. STILL people roasted him. At this point people just suffer through morrowind for the memes and the "yeah i beat that" bragging rights.
Skyrim
There are still people coping about this too. "It's right around the corner guys! Inhale It's about to be announced, any day now! Inhale wheeze."

Fucking hell I've said this so many times by now (probably not on this thread but definitely /tesg/) but it never gets through. If you want to play Morrowind and Oblivion, play fucking Morrwind and Oblivion! Hell I'd rather someone demake Skyrim in Morrowind's engine, least we'd have the worst (well maybe not worse than Arena, and I liked Arena too) Elder Scrolls game made better by being in the best Elder Scrolls game. And yes I know about the actual Skyrim (continent) mod already made.
Skyrim is the worst ES game. People who don't like Morrowind are brain dead and don't know how actual rpgs are supposed to work.

Increase your endurance and get better with the skill and you'll land hits consistently. Lmfao dumbasses
