Interesting group, some quick questions.
1. How many in custody, and how many still on the loose?
2. Does the authority of the cult lay in its leader or its idealogue?
3. If the leader was dealt with, would a new leader take its place?
4. From my basic review of the paper, it seems Leftist Based Accelerationism, I don't care for the rest of the mental illness justification, is that a good basic gestalt, or do I need to file it under something else?
5. Are they affiliated with any other known sects, how do they recruit and indoctrinate? Are there any current victims of indoctrination? What is their main reach and proxy?
6. (Optional) In their belief system, do they believe in Hell? Because this sort of thing damns you to Hell.
1. Leatham, Dao, Youngblut, and Snyder are in custody. Borhanian and Bauckholt are dead. LaSota and Zajko are on the loose, Blank mysteriously vanished and has been missing for years, Danielson was rumored to have killed himself but probably faked it.
2. Not sure, they all individually seem pretty crazy and are capable of doing insane things on their own, but LaSota was definitely the one directing their long-term plans.
3. LaSota definitely is the one who defines their ideology, if he died or went to prison, a new leader may rise up but they would probably have somewhat different beliefs.
4. They're a leftist offshoot of rationalist (believing AI could take over the world and either turn it into heaven or hell) and effective altruistic (believing that you should amass large amounts of wealth and use the mathematically most efficient means to alleviate suffering) beliefs. Their distinct beliefs are the militant veganism, the 'separate personalities on each side of the brain' theory, and the belief that only a tiny fraction of humanity are capable of having altruistic agency.
5. Their recruits are from the rationalist sphere. It's pretty obvious how this happens, gifted programmers who've been told they're geniuses all their lives go to the Bay Area, and are shocked that the tech business is a business and you need business savvy and social skills to succeed. Having been out-competed by normies, they fall in with rationalist groups, who are as nerdy as them while also being a social club for the tech world's elite. But they find themselves outcasts there too, so they make an offshoot branch and try to undermine the more powerful groups.
They also do more conventional cult stuff like experiment with hallucinogens and sleep deprivation, but underneath their ideals is the seething resentment of not being allowed to sit at the cool kid's table.
6. Yes, but they're rationalists, so they believe in Computer Hell. Also, they crunched the numbers and decided that eating meat makes you giga-Hitler, and killing non-vegans is actually virtuous.
I'm going to have to substantially rework the diagram I'm keeping to document connections between these people. But, I think with what I have so far this could be the "eye" of Ziz:
View attachment 6929977
- Ziz and Blank were arrested in the same PA hotel not too far from the double-homicide of Zajko's parents
- (per PA state troopers, Zajko had a room in that hotel)
- Ziz was in contact with Zajko per Zajko's blog post expressing fear for her life
- Snyder and Bauckholt were in contact, per court documents
- Ziz was possibly the person of interest with whom Youngblut was in contact (weaker)
- Youngblut was in contact, or in concert, with Bauckholt (NC, VT) and Snyder (WA marriage cert, maybe Lakeside School in WA)
- Ziz and Danielson were at one point boatmates, maybe lived together after that
- Ziz was reportedly at the scene of the first Lind assault involving Borhanian, Leatham and Dao
- Zajko is the owner of the guns found at the VT shooting involving Youngblut, Bauckholt
- Bauckholt, Youngblut and Zajko may have all been in contact with Snyder, per court documents and this article's analysis
Let me know if I'm dumb or if I'm stupid, or if I'm cooking up.
(Edited to add the VT shooting guns as an obvious connection between Zajko and Youngblut/Bauckholt)
Correction on Daniel Blank, he is still a missing person as of November 2024:
https://www.facebook.com/PennERC/po...are-unknown-in-daniels-disap/576263551806464/
I think he was released due to lack of evidence (I'm having trouble finding the court cases, hunting down legal documents is not my forte), and has not been seen since. Aella's timeline says that his friends are assuming he's dead, but if that seems too speculative to you, you can just put down "Missing".
I think you should put "Possibly Faked" next to Danielson's suicide, LaSota faked his death too and put way more effort into it, false witness statements and fake obituary and everything. Danielson's lawyer just said he couldn't show up in court because "I dunno, maybe xe killed ximself lol".
And then there's
this twitter account spamming replies at Ngo's tweets about the Zizians (
ghostarchive), which seems to be somebody's gayop to smear the dead landlord as a pedo (on the off-chance he was a diddler, maybe
y'all should consider not calling your pedo-exposing team "LARP") :
It's transparently a gayop. The Zizians also tried to smear CFAR and JD Pressman as pedophiles and sex pests, it's their default tactic.
"You people are insane!"
"That's just what a child molester would say!"
Call me dismissive in this regard, but I generally take most of the bullshit these people say about one another with less than a grain of salt. It's hard to take the word of these nutcases as credible. And that's when I can even make sense of the gibberish they've written in their blogs, which is also not interesting to me.
IMO I think those blog posts serve to establish the most basic of connections (electronic communication, maybe planning meetings) between people, and little else. And to those ends, I find court reports or filings mentioning communications between people more reputable.
Yeah, and the multiple accounts don't mean much since they're all Zizians and would happily lie to destroy an enemy. The main point in their favor is that there are a bunch of sex pests and lunatics in the rationalist sphere, but that leaves them looking pretty bad too. A classic "I think everybody involved should die" situation.
