They heard somewhere that Trump HATES it when anyone shares power with him and that just like making fun of his small hands or orange skin, if you say Elon is the real president he'll turn apoplectic with rage and probably have a heart attack and die.

It's funny how according to these well-read "students of history", current events are always, always analogous to the second World War rather than any other historical moment of the last 5000 years. Nobody ever says "I'm getting real Peter the Great vibes from this guy" or "this is just like when Bismarck..." or "my political opponent is the next Attila!"

I'm starting to think they got their entire understanding of the world from the History Channel in the 2000s.
