I thought about it for a second, and I came to conclusion based solely on my intuition that all this "government shakeup" along with drawing comparisons to American Revolution, is just smoke and mirrors.
Elon and Trump, are never going to touch the real drain on US budget which is alphabet agencies. I wish I was proven wrong, but I want to see them reduce funding of CIA, FBI, NSA, DHS, and whatever else alphabet soup of overt and covert agencies contains. Instead, Elon shakes up places that arguably are fossilized bureaucracy, but at the same time are safe to touch, relatively speaking.
And what about the Fed? Will get its audit too?

A lot of smart people are thinking about and discussing this very thing. AI at a certain level could just escape us forever, covering the world in a blanket of lies and disinformation we would have no way of piercing, basically turning the entire human civilization into a very elaborate Sims game without our knowledge, if you will. AI also wouldn't need steel skeletons with austrian accents to do it's bidding, it'd just manipulate some random idiots on twitter. For that it would need human-like motivation though, which is not a thing I would say is just an automatic given at a certain level of intelligence. It's motivations and thought processes could be completely alien to ours. I don't think the current crop of leadership and elite is equipped to deal with an event like a superintelligent AI and their greed could quite possibly become their undoing. And yes, I believe ASI is all but inevitable at this point. The fun and horrific thing about all this is - it wouldn't even need to be sentient.

Why would you want to reduce funding of FBI, CIA, NSA, DHS and the rest? The amount they get is a drop in the bucket compared to things like the military. They serve important needs, too

Budget cuts and savings? Then please start with the absurd amount of money the DoD pays for the small things that often fly under the radar.
