I think it's part of his strategy to just rub their faces in their failure to kill him. They thought they could scare him, they thought he was a coward. The first definitely is. Figuring out where a person lives definitely sounds like you have a plan. Sure there isn't anything wrong with knowing that, and it's easy to find it on the farms, but a judge doesn't know that and thinks you are a super hacker for figuring it out.
