I think there's a complexity to the issue that gets simplified in the thread due to the vitriol behind the discussion but still exists. This isn't like adding a gameplay mechanic or expanding on the choices available to the player for greater depth, this is also re-writing things which were previously established in order to include it for the sake of including it. Even if you don't care about the inclusion of the gay content, it should bother you that to do so, they had essentially retcon the previously established personalities and sexualities of two characters to include it.

In RPGs there's always an argument to be made regarding 'player choice'. It's about assuming the role that you decide to assume. But you don't really assume the role of your own character in KCD, you're puppeteering Henry, someone who expresses himself independently of the player a few times throughout the game and has some choices locked off from him because they're not things he would do (No option to betray Radzig, kill Jobst, kill Hans and cover it up as a 'hunting accident' then blame it on nearby Cumans, etcetera).

I would argue the inclusion of gay content becomes 'woke' - like most woke inclusions - when it defies logic or pre-established facets of the story, or setting, or characters. Henry only had straight sexual encounters in the first game, and gave no inkling to being attracted to the same sex. Same for Hans, who has received a similar treatment to Henry. This would be akin to having Geralt of Rivia undergo the same sudden change from Witcher 1 and 2, to 3. Vavra's justification of this change is to use anecdotal evidence of a man coming out as gay after a long time married with a woman, which is a poor justification in my eyes and has negative connotations all on its own. Having the option to be gay with Hans also retroactively alters any prior scenes with him as potential build up, establishing chemistry, etcetera, all serving to function this potential relationship.

I personally care less about the gay content than Musa, but there's more to it outside of disgust to take offence at it, mostly from how it alters past interactions and their friendship.

- you have the option of fucking your non-blood related half-Jewish brother (mom is a Jewess)
- at the end of the game Henry takes down a hanged Jewish character that prays for him
- apparently you can't draw your weapon and attack NPCs in the synagogue

They could’ve added anything, but they chose to add a nigger and a gay romance option.

Those two things not being there were selling points to the original.

I don't even get the point of buying it on launch. It will take a minimum of 2 years for all the DLC to come out and for them to patch the game into stable state. You miss nothing by waiting, though the moniker niggercattle is a good one, since the lack of impulse control is very coon-like.

I think there are legitimately people that think they will be getting a completed product, rather than a late beta test, when they buy a game at launch. Which is weird considering that essentially no game is like that anymore, and hasn't been for like 5 years now.

You trade time to decompress for bandwidth. You do realize much of the US is still on datacaps? I only recently for off one like a year go. I remember pulling shit off of ftp servers and irc bots using DCC. I still have copies of tv shows with irc channels embedded in them. Do you remember suprnova? What about their internet radio station.

I'm not sure it's "better", it's just worse in different ways. Most of what's there is just copy-past of what we've seen in the first game, hard to screw that up, but it's definitely not getting one up on Veilguard like many fanboys wanted it to thanks to all the retarded shit they shoved into it to appease their DEI score. I'm waiting for Avowed to make a judgement, but even if KCD2 ends up being the best of the three, it's still in the same tier of RPGs as far as I am concerned.
Release is one thing, but pre-release? Not any better, not by a long shot. This time around, fans embarrassed themselves as much as the devs, worst I remember from Veilguard's camp was Jason Schrier and other journos making fools of themselves, as well as a minority of people on resetera and reddit unironically excited about it, everyone else was skeptical at least. With KCD2, there was shilling reaching levels I haven't seen in years, and that's from the same people who laughed at Veilguard. Definitely the kind of people who can dish it out, but can't take the same kind of heat. Same people laughing at surgery scars were grasping at straws and crying how it's JUST ONE NIGGER and YOU DON'T HAVE TO WATCH THE GAY SCENE! Parentless behavior.
