The incest/stepcest stuff exploded largely because GOT made it mainstream, and because it's extremely easy to make. It's just regular porn but you have "sister/brother/mother" added to the dialogue and suddenly it's a stepcest vid. Amateur porn also blew up due to streaming sites and more recently due to Covid, and the low-cost nature of stepcest content makes it easy for amateurs to do in their own homes. Same for the low-effort "stuck" fetish that usually goes along with stepcest vids.

Porn sites have very low profit margins since so much of it is pirated to streaming sites, so porn studios have had to increasingly cater to more niche audiences to make any money. Niche audiences are more willing to spend money to get what they want because, generally, its been harder to find. As a result, all porn has shifted towards more extreme content just to keep in business, which in turn floods the streaming sites with more extreme videos.

I find that our culture tends to enjoy edgy stuff for jokes. Previous generations had a lot of racial and ethnic jokes, along with some sex jokes. If that's true, then why isn't there an abundance of "Woman pays off her landlord with sex" videos? Or "Woman sleeps with her boss to save her job"? "Woman hitchhiker has sex for a ride"?
