It would be a 100% colony though. The Palestinians would have to have a hard think about what it would mean. It would be an unprecedent offer for the people of Gaza though. It would end the war with Israel at a stroke, but they would have to become Americans which is a huge fly in the ointment to the idea. Both for the existing Americans and the Palestinians.

It's not an offer. We're just doing it. And judging by Trump's comments, he's gonna turn it into exactly the kind of nationless, globalist, cosmopolitan paradise everyone insists the USA and Europe are supposed to be. In other words, he's gonna ethnically cleanse it, and what is anybody going to say? Diversity and immigration are bad?

When the US kills Muslims, no one cares. When the Israelis kill Muslims, the world shits itself. That's all I can really think of, honestly. Israel may not have the manpower or resources to pacify Gaza and the option could be to either go in and take care of it ourselves or pay the Israelis to pretend to do it for the next 50 years.

the radical elements like Ben Gvir are elated. Jews being able to live in Gaza under US rule is fine with him, Gaza isn't part of biblical israel.
