I think everyone should remember that Trump talks a lot of shit, so this could be one of those times.

To stop shitposting for a moment, an international force led by the US occupying Gaza was floated as a solution multiple times in 2024. I suspect Trump will say I am calling for countries to join me to build an international peacekeeping force that won't take no shit and will awkshoolly enforce peace in Gaza and we can rebuild it to be a paradise then. No one will sign up, Trump will give that shit-eating grin and say oh well I guess Israel will have to deal with it, I tried but no one wanted to step up to the plate

But I've always thought that the second all hostages are out of Gaza, Bibi is going to restart the war and Trump in reality has zero problem with that

It would be a 100% colony though. The Palestinians would have to have a hard think about what it would mean. It would be an unprecedent offer for the people of Gaza though. It would end the war with Israel at a stroke, but they would have to become Americans which is a huge fly in the ointment to the idea. Both for the existing Americans and the Palestinians.

Just make the whole thing into a military base with no local population at all.

I mean...it IS a solution...The population of Gaza is only 2 million. The US Government does have the capacity to integrate it over time. It would also give the people there Statehood. Probably not the State they wanted, but if Gaza is US Territory...well, no chance Israel bombs them again. And they will have the most impeccable property rights to the land ever.

Its something just insane enough that it might just work.

I am already looking forward to spending my 2028 vacation on the Trump Gaza resort, the perfect stop between touring the Pyramids in Egypt and the Holy Land in Israel.

That does sound appealing. Always have wanted to see the Pyramids with my own eyes
