I need to see how this Gaza thing plays out, but if nothing else it is a solution. I prefer it 30% more than the alternative, which was giving Israel endless ACME crates of bombs to use as they please. Optimistically this would allow us to create prime real estate, that could receive investments from a bunch of Middle Eastern countries. Giving them all a vested interest in Gaza. We get resources, a strategic location, and we can stop funding Israel for "defense."
It could take 20 years for the full story to play out here. In the meantime I will look to the domestic issues, in which we are winning by a large margin.

I don't know when the "give it to Israel" part became a factor. We can just keep it forever. We "defend" Israel just by being there, and get to profit from the land value, resources, and strategic positioning. They don't need defense money anymore because we set up shop and defend it ourselves. If it goes well it means we are getting something from our investment, instead of burning money to defend jews who give us NOTHING in return.
