Just hitting highlights so throw clocks if I'm late. I love Trump's idea, although idc about Gaza being the Riveria.
Everyone pearl clutching about another war is overlooking how the US and Israel have been funding both sides for decades. Right now Trump has Iran protecting him--he can travel to the ME because if he's assassinated (or anything else happens) the blame will be on Iran even if they didn't do it, so it's in their best interests to make sure he's left alone. With DOGE moving forward with transparency, anticipate documentation that the feds have been financing ME terrorism, including Palestinians. Keeping the wars alive is the MIC's number one goal.
With this plan, the terrorist funding will be stripped and terrorists will be rounded up and sent to El Salvador. That leaves the Palestinians who just want to live in peace. That might be a small population, and they can integrate into Gaza, which would be under American control somehow. There wouldn't be a strip of land to continually fight over, and there wouldn't be enough funding to make Jihad worth it. And if there are other ME countries willing to support the plan, there could be temporary peace in the ME. I say temporary because Muslims will always Muslim, but for a while this could work.
Leaving the ME to fester on its own is a horrible idea, even if we pulled back funding. The excuse for war has been because it's a hotbed of terrorism--well, we all know how it's been fed. But with the US pulling funding it creates a vacuum and all it would take is a country or two to band resources and gain strength. At that point they will attack the US, and it will be worse than 9/11, or, gasp, J6.
Trump can blather on about developing the land, and people can fret about him being in Israel's pocket. Meanwhile, he's bringing stabilization with this plan, not war. The world knows he won't hesitate to take out the head of the hydra over and over to reduce American bloodshed.
And if all this is just a distraction so the press and Dems and Israel haters can mald and seethe, well, that's fine too.
Edit: Yeah, it's all optimistic for sure. But I'd rather my money go to an attempt at fixing the problem (end terrorist funding, removing the bone the dogs keep fighting over) than to ignore it.
Edit 2: Late on this I'm sure, but the Dems are baiting Trump again, just like the Floyd riots. I say let them cook themselves to a crisp while the Executive Branch does actual work; meanwhile the Repubs in congress need to put the screws to them. Sanction, remove from committees, reduce influence, etc. I can't believe Fetterman is the only Democrat that's willing to be bipartisan and the voice of reason, but here we are.
