This is what I mean when I say it's hard to separate the culture bangwagoners from the original fans. He might be right on cultural issues, and I know he has fans on here, but Synthetic Man is a genuine retard when it comes to actually playing and understanding video games.
When you steal in towns, guards will start randomly searching people more often, which is how you get caught out. Yes, he may have stolen from an unrelated camp, but you'll notice the guard actually didn't take those items. My guess is that he actually did steal from that town earlier on in the game.

In his defense, the crime systems seem genuinely bugged and there is times when the guards just magically catch you when there was no way they would know you stole an item. Reminds me of Fallout 3 where the moment you kill some NPC in a town, even if nobody saw you, the entire town gains psychic powers and immediately starts zeroing in on your position. NO FUN ALLOWED

Speaking of which, Synth just compared the writing in KCD2 vs KCD1 to Bethesda writing, and I can kind of see that. You take away all the fancy wording and the funny european accents and this does genuinely seem like the kind of drivel you would hear in one of the newer Elder Scroll games. KCD1 didn't have this, the NPCs did actually feel like people from the 1400s.

What that means is that a negative review that calls out the developers or the woke content in the game can be blocked. I don't know yet what that actually means, but I've noticed that reviews for games like Veilguard were way too positive when that game bombed. I guess you can theoretically "ban" enough reviews to keep yourself above mixed rating, if they don't count towards that metric.

This is beyond SJW snowflake behavior, this is just straight up EA tier scummery. Hope the ESG money was worth it, I can see the goodwill for this company withering in real time.

After all, it's famous for being a far away mystical town that European Christians are forbidden to enter. But if a lone Muslim man was to walk into the middle of the Holy Roman Empire back then and try to promote Islam or bad mouths Christ and claim his religion to be in anyway better, at best people will attack him and warn of his dangers. At worst they will demand to their local King or Sovereign to arrest him and execute him for hearsay and being an enemy of the Christian fate. If Sigismund recruited him, then their would be an argument for treason for breaking his trust and being a hostile foreign agent.

Yeah this is kind of suspiciously consistent theme through everything I've seen of the game so far. The girlbossing is especially annoying. Henry gets sent to save a girl who has been abducted but a high level in intimidate doesn't scare the shit shoveler threatening to kill her. Henry has to grovel and cut a deal with him. She of course spins around and instant kills the guy who has been holding her captive for days (but didn't rape her for some reason) because we can't have Henry just straight up save a woman.

He has to lick dead bodies. Everyone calls him retarded. People jerk him around. I know the first game was infamous for being a 'start as a shit peasant and rise to greatness' type of thing but that was the first game where Henry WAS a peasant. He has like a hundred bodies on him, official status as a bastard noble, and is more intelligent canonically.

I understand the reset for gameplay purposes, but it is feeling more like the devs taking a piss on the character than anything else.

I disagree. I'm not a historian nor a weapon buff so this is just my own opinion that might be horrifically wrong. Swords were probably the most important weapon, albeit as a sidearm. Not everyone-especially poor infantry-wore plate armor, and even then it's still very possible to slip swords and other sharp weapons into gaps and other exposed parts. Plus they were quite cheap compared to other weapons, even if they could be expensive if well made. As a bonus I'd say spears and other long reach weapons that required simple movement were kings of the battlefield, probably. Swords weren't the ultimate weapon of course, but absolute worst is just wrong...again, imo.
Also wait a second, I swear you could masterstrike with other weapons? I haven't played KCD1 in a while but I swear you could with all but polearms. Did...they restrict it in the second game?
