I went and did what your typical weak, videogame obsessed, consooming consumer, corporate shill would do last night,... and got KCD2. This is after reading a little bit of the thread last week and discovering the unpleasant news about the new awful publisher they hooked up with. Heard about the mind boggling faggot shit and the even more baffling, idiotic, and more revolting to me personally decision of having a current year, wakanda tier, subsaharan africa nigger hanging out with all the bigshot nobility in 1400's Bohemia as an equal and read the sad tweets of the formerly reasonable seeming Daniel Vavra defending these decisions and fighting with his own fanbase for objecting to these very current year and pathetic shoehorning into a game that was refreshingly uncurrent year when I played through the first game.
Wtf happened to that guy? Clearly he's someone who might take things personally and who isn't above fighting with rando's on the internet, which was entertaining the first time around because the people he fought with were completely insane. He stood his ground when these absolute dopes seemed to be suggesting without a hint of irony that naturally medieval europe should be crawling with niggers and Daniel Vavra.. you sir, are the asshole for even suggesting that it wasn't. I mean, sure it's pointless to argue with people that far carried away with themselves and their personal repository of mental illnesses and severe retardations both physically and mentally... but it was entertaining to see and refreshing to see at least one person in that whole video game industry that seemed to have a tiny bit of self respect, who wouldn't immediately apologize and cave in after the slightest bit of online complainging.
But defending faggotry and the addition of current year, Western civ nigger worship in a grossly inappropriate setting... that's a bit too much. Why not just let the fans complain, get all their frustrations out, and maybe, just maybe, say something like, "Regardless of what you hear from someone online, or see in a few screenshots that just came out, just wait until the game releases. I'd ask you to trust me. If you enjoyed KCD1, you will enjoy this one. I promise you."
After that, don't read anymore regarding the subject and definitely don't comment about it. Just wait until it releases and see what people think then. I guess he's not that type of guy though. He might be one of those people who have to get the last word in.
A day after being horrified and discouraged by the news from this thread, I thought about why he would agree to these dumb fucking additions, and I made up a little possible scenario in my brain of what happened in his Czechoslav office somewhere in central Europe, on the day he had to meet with his new publisher: big money, pro woke types who outbid everyone else and whose offer was way too good for anyone to turn down and live with the decision, knowing you gave up a fortune for your credibility. It's shit, it shouldn't be like this, but let's see how this goes. Nothing's set in stone and they said they'd have some requests they'd like to see in the game but nothing has been decided yet and nothing would happen until both parties could agree. That being said, they hold the cards because if they want something we absolutely refuse to put in, they can hold out on us and cut some of the funding and make us release something that wouldn't be as polished or bugfree as it should.
I thought maybe it went something like:
Publisher: "Yeah, we're gonna need an NPC couple, possibly friends or reletives of Henry, people who appear early and often throughout the story, who are a gay intersex interracial couple with an adoptive baby. A very happy adoptive baby because of course the baby's happy when it's parents are allowed to express their sexuality with no judgement from society."
Daniel: "That's not gonna be possibly. There's no way that could work. We have all the main NPC's who are around Henry already too attached to huge plot elements of the storyline, and none of them can be changed to something like you're suggesting. It just isn't even remotely feasible.
Publisher: Okay, Yeah, well this is a negotiation. It's going to be give and take, both of us playing ball, knocking ideas back and forth. We have other options we can go with for this absolutely crucial requirement. Hans Capon is pregnant. Henry's the father. Hans confided his ftm status to Henry, which would be like a 2nd climax to the story, tells of his youth and his unhappy childhood, back when he was known as Hansalina. "
Publisher: "Oh, you don't like that either huh? Third and final offer. Take it or we cut off the last 4 months of testing and troubleshooting and make you release in November 24. Henry's a cocksucker. He discovers this about himself and gets a boyfriend.
Daniel: "Ok but it's gotta be behind like 9 dialogue skill checks."
Publisher: "Ok, this our only other request and it's an easy one. We need representation. As you know, diversity it our strength. Every village must have at least 2 black families. Not noble families, because White privilage won't allow blacks to be nobles. You know, institutional racism and all. Besides, the nobles are sometimes presented as pompous and cocky, with the pesantry often resenting them and their blueblooded nature. We don't want that. We want these black families to be respected by the whole town, they can't be poor or peasants because that puts forth a racist white supremacist narrative that all black people are peasants. They need a skilled trade but for God's sake, DO NOT make any of the families miller's. That would literally be playing right into the hands of the gamergate nazi party fascist extremism movement. They'll make memes like "miller stole my horse !" They'll upload parody songs on their nazi forums with titles like "The house next door to me, was bought by miller's. We just want them to be very rich, loved by everyone, not nobles, and also oppressed by all the evil white supremacists who aren't on the right side of history, you know, the 2 or 3 people who don't love them like everyone else is programmed to. We realize that in order to present them as accurately opressed like in real life medieval bohemia, we need at least a handful of characters who don't love them and thank them for existing every time they're on screen. Cuz like we said, divesity is our strength., but we must try to keep the story grounded"
Daniel: "What if I make one of the most powerful NPC's in the game, like a King's right hand man, his head advisor, a Muslim? That would be diversity. And I think that'll go over slightly better than what you just described. "
Publisher: "This, of course, will be a black muslim, no?"
Daneil: "No just the usual kind."
Publisher: "Make him blacker than the ace of spades and dress him like wakanda royalty, and you've got yourself a deal."
That was way more nonsense than what went on in my head that day, I got carried away. I did have that thought though, like maybe he did fight for his creation behind the scenes and this was the best case scenario and way less retarded than what the publishers originally wanted them to put in the game before they negotiated for alternate history fag henry and Nigger Rennaisance Nobility Science Man or whatever that was some humerous individual referred to him as the other day.
Cuz I've played through only the very beginning. I'm at the point where they just set up the conflict that sets everything into motion. In other words, not far at all but maybe a few hours in? Idk b/c my playing has been broken up into 45 minute sessions so far.
I'm just gonna say it. The game is badass. Even if it was a situation like Fallout 1 and 2, where they didn't change anything and just made a brand new quest and storyline for the second game, while leaving basically all the graphics and mechanics of the game exactly the same... even if that's all it was I'd play it and enjoy myself because the first game was such a refreshing, original surprise as far as im concerned. IMO it was one of the most original games and stories that I've played in a very long time, That's just how I felt about it, I enjoyed it so much that I'd enjoy the same exact setup with a new adventure as long as it was the same legnth as KCD1. Obviously I'd much prefer the mechanics to be refined and improved upon, I'm just making the point that I really liked what they did the first time around.
That's not the case though. Early on as I am, it defintely seems like a lot of refining went into this sequel, but without changing the aspects that were so enjoyable the first time around. Even with this new faggot publisher, it was still made by, I assume, most of the same leading figures invovled with the devolopment of the original. I hate that they put in the type of retarded shit that was gone over in the thread here, but as far as the early game is showing me, faggot publishers haven't prevented them from making something very enjoyable to play if you were a fan of the original game.
This could all change of course. They could be laying in wait, trying to give the player time to forget any controversy they may have heard, lulling them into a sense of false security. Then, when they're confident that the player is in a groove and forgot why there was ever even a fuss about woke shit invading the game... then all at once they bombard you with more faggots and niggers than you'd find in even current year trash on Steam.
Just my take as of yet. I'm not gonna say anything else about it until i'm way deep into the game, not to spoil anything but to say if it held up or not like 50-60 hours in, and did it exceed my expectations or fall short.
