There's already "Real ID," a national standard that was mandated for air travel after some deadline in the not-too-distant future (unless of course Trump orders DHS to reverse course). States are free not to implement it, but that means essentially telling every resident of that state "sorry, no more flying for you, lol!" So we're most of the way there (as far as "universal/digital ID" goes) as it is.

For the record there is a very strong anti-Canada sentiment in Alberta. It's not uncommon to see FUCK Trudeau flags on cars and trucks and in shops.

The big issue is the word separatist smacks of faggot Quebecois and thus is tainted so the West-Exit party is pretty small but growing steady.

Honestly if Trump said Alberta come on down! I think most Albertan's would vote to leave. Not that Ottawa would ever allow that as Alberta is Canada's cashcow and the federation can't exist without it. The transfer payments Alberta makes to Ottawa is what keeps the rest of Canada flush for all those sweet sweet government programs the Liberals use to buy votes with.

Pay huge money to some totally real company, group or cause that then gives everyone involved inflated salaries way above the expected + bonuses and expenses and in turn those people will donate large amounts to dem campaigns each election, create a PAC, run ads in important races or a bunch of other possible things.

Yeah, but you still need to go to the DMV to get your physical ID updated to meet the Real ID standards. I don't have to download a federal app on my phone to travel or vote, and I'd like to keep it that way.
