ideally the cap would be fucking $0 and people who live in high tax areas wouldn't be able to use the federal government to subsidize any of their bad decisions, but if the cap only goes from 10K to 25K or so then it could be a good bone to throw to middle class bughivers that could convert into some good will for the next election
It's interesting to see that added in considering the National Debt Clock site is a third-party one not associated with the government or with the physical one some here may be aware of.
Folks who previously were content with just putting up rainbow signs in their lawn are now making the difficult choice of putting themselves into the far less defensible position of actively aiding illegals. People posting signs up around their hometown and their local subreddit of "here's what YOU can do if ICE shows up" are asking themselves what more they can do and getting themselves into the cross hairs of ICE themselves.
