A lot of the EV charging companies right now are based in Europe, which is ahead of us in terms of research, development, and deployment. Other USAID-type government agencies are involved in this sector, such as Business France. I imagine a lot of USAID money went to European companies to develop and test this stuff before adopting the technology in the USA.

For whatever it's worth: I know a bit about the EV/enertech industry and some of it is absolutely legit.
