UN Six million people could die from HIV and AIDS if US funding stops, UN agency warns - REMEMBER THE SIX MILLION!

GENEVA, Feb 7 (Reuters) - More than six million people could die from HIV and AIDS in the next four years if U.S. President Donald Trump's administration pulls its global funding for programmes, the United Nations AIDS agency said on Friday.

Although a waiver was placed on HIV/AIDS programmes in last month's U.S. foreign aid funding freeze, many concerns remained about the future of treatment programmes, the deputy executive director of UNAIDS told reporters in Geneva.

"There is a lot of confusion especially on the community level, how the waiver will be implemented. We're seeing a lot of disruption of delivery of treatment services", Christine Stegling said.

Trump put hundreds of millions of dollars' worth of foreign aid donations on hold for 90 days upon taking office on January 20. In the following days, the U.S. State Department issued a waiver on the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) - the world's leading HIV initiative - for life-saving humanitarian assistance.

While welcoming the waiver, Stegling stressed the situation remains chaotic.

Amid a broader decline of funding, Stegling warned there would be a 400% increase in AIDS deaths if PEPFAR financial support is not re-authorized between 2025 and 2029.

"That's 6.3 million people, 6.3 million AIDS-related deaths that will occur in future...Any penny, any cut, any pause, will matter for all of us" she said, urging U.N. member states to step in.

"In Ethiopia, we have 5,000 public health worker contracts that are funded by U.S. assistance. And all of these have been terminated," Stegling said.

She highlighted that community clinics were facing the biggest interruption as they are "entirely dependent" on U.S. government funding.

She expressed concern that some people may not come forward for treatment, which could in turn increase new HIV infections.

U.S. donations account for the majority of global funding for the U.N. programme that operates in 70 countries, leading global efforts to end AIDS as a public health threat by 2030.

Trump's administration says it is reviewing all foreign-aid programmes to see if they align with his "America First" policy.

If they wanted to keep the funding going they should have worked to weed out the grifters wanting to enrich their friends like at the Clinton foundation.

But the world is so overpopulated that we’re all going to die of climate change without mass human reduction. Why do the people who want humanity to die out always want to start with white midwestern white families and never a bunch of AIDS patients in Africa?

Come on, this one isn't hard. It's call IQ. The higher the IQ the more likely it is that people can think for themselves (I know the whole 'covid/lockdowns' thing proves otherwise), which means they can form together to fight for what they want.

Lessor IQs have a hard enough time understanding that the person they are today, is the same person they were yesterday, and the same person they are tomorrow, simply put, they don't understand that actions have consequences, hence the 'didin do nuffin ron'.

FFS, they think that what they stick their dicks in should be as tight as possible, and to get that (as someone else brought up), ultimate 'dry sex = tight as fuck' feel for their men, women are stuffing themselves with dirt, rocks, detergent, bleach, you name it, anything that takes away that actual 'self lubrication and cleaning' that XX vaginas are so magical to have, that would otherwise go a long way to not spreading HIV (AIDS is the result of Fauci's AZT treatment, causing the body to fail in multiple ways, they couldn't have people realising that when the gene therapy shots came about, so they called it ADE/VAIDS/etc.).

Trump being the most environmentally friendly president ever with reducing the total amount of free eaters and reducing insane global trade chains.
America's basically become the equivalent of that crazy lady who feeds the neighborhood racoons. At some point she's either going to die or go broke, and the creatures she helps will starve. It's not kindness to make poor vulnerable populations dependent upon you, and only YOU for survival. At some point, Africa has to learn how to fend for itself.
Never forget the USA ships blood packets to Africa because they can't be assed to have their own population donate.

Honestly I'd keep funding. It's only 6.5 billion a year and as the article says we are making great progress to end AIDS as a health threat by 2030.
We can end AIDS tomorrow. We just shoot those who have aids, or for a more humane way of ending it, tell the homos with aids to stop fucking.
AIDS dies out for free in one generation.

This disease is spread through degeneracy. If bug chasers can't stop getting pounded, why should I feel bad?

Many have tried this, many have failed. Just let nature take its course without medical intervention.

The only people with HIV that I feel any amount of sorry for is babies who might get it from their mother passing it on to them. Literally everyone else knows or is capable of finding out how it's spread and making choices to avoid it and they don't. Die of gay cancer disease. Suffah.

This will help America too, it's a noble goal, and it isn't an outrageous pricetag. Just make sure the money is used properly and doesn't end up in Marie Stopes or Planned Parenthood's hands.
Orrrr we could spend that 6.5 billion on our own people. We can't keep being the world's Santa Claus.

It's almost like America is the best thing that could happen to the world with all the amazing and selfless things it does and should be celebrated and thanked instead of denigrated and blamed for everything bad.
