Though, I feel like it's harder for them to use it as a self insert fetish compared to something like Celeste considering you play as a sentient chunk of raw meat who's trying to save his girlfriend from hell or some shit like that.
To be fair, that was Matt's previous game before Celeste. The main character even appears in SMB.
Also the abuse victim of ur indie troon, "Anna" Anthropy, is playable too.
Legitimately one of my favorite videos on the Internet. "All of Blow's layers of symbolism are lost on Soulja Boy, who instead, enjoys himself playing a video game".
Braid falls into that trap that I've found numerous indie games do, where the original concept gets lost or played out well before the end and it starts to suck as they try different gimmicks added onto it.

Yeah, especially in the early days of indie games. I think Retro City Rampage even had a Minecraft crossover/reference when that was still considered "indie" (pre Microsoft obviously).

I still forget sometimes Minecraft is actually a worldwide phenomenon that was immensely popular for years. I still think of it as a weird little block building game made by a dude who's kind of a shitty programmer.
The OST was very enjoyable and the art style very beautiful, I wish more indie devs had taken that lesson from that game to use placeholder assets and then get something professionally done. Instead now we just have an infinite number of indie pixelshit with chiptune audio.
I've never played that but it definitely looks like it plays a lot like super meat boy. I honestly don't really follow indie developers or their drama too much unless they make their politics and beliefs open and apparent in their games. I wouldn't even know or care that Celeste was made by a tranny if he hadn't have been such an obvious faggot about it.
I have always found it a bit odd that trannies seem to gravitate so much towards platformers and speedrunning and shit like that. I kind of wish I was still naive like I was back when I thought the tranny that used to hold the world record Super Metroid speedrun, back when it was a time I could almost attain, was an actual woman. I remember being legit confused and impressed seeing everyone referring to him as a she and her thinking it was an actual woman that did it. This was back before pronouns and trannies were common. I still remember when my brain clicked years later when I noticed trannies were highly overrepresented in the speedrunning world and I realized it was a fucking tranny all along.
I wonder if it's because these kinds of games make trannies nostalgic for childhood. I have noticed a lot of trannies become strangely obsessed with shit from their childhood.
It's the sort of game that would obviously appeal to speedrunners who are almost all autistic troons. There are so many levels in it where there are exploitable shortcuts (that I'd probably never figure out) that get you through it in seconds.
I actually started playing Braid recently, very fun game, the plot twist in the end was genius. I do like the developer, he can be very critical / harsh but I think that's good especially when it comes to programming / software so people can innovate & make better software. I do disagree with some of points like his take on open source.
The Soulja Boy video was really funny though. I looked at Jonathan Blow's Xitter to see if he talked more on that video and I found this. L / A
Jonathan Blow is funny. Last I looked into him was probably around the time the Braid remaster came out. I seem to recall that he's working on some dumb box puzzle game and has spent a ridiculous amount of money between it and his programming language, to the point that the Braid Remaster was just a way to inject some funds into his company and I'm pretty sure it was a huge bomb.
I also recall he claimed he had the greatest idea for The Witness 2 during some random interview he did, he couldn't write it down during the interview and then just forgot what it was. I can't tell if he's making it up to piss off the people who want that game or if he is seriously though.
Blow is the kind of guy where I think I'll hear him say something I agree with in regards to the industry and publishers (although I can't tell you any of it offhand) but then like 10 minutes later he'll say or do something just as colossally retarded.
The correct answer is fuck you and to ignore it or to uninstall it because otherwise some company is making you their bitch by getting you to do repetitive tasks
