When you punish someone for shitty behavior, the punishment seems front-loaded to people because it’s all upfront; there’s no lingering unspoken emotional sword-of-damocles hanging over the person afterwards like there might be with… well, most people i know, even ones i have good relationships with. Similarly, whenever I’ve heard you compliment someone, there’s nothing left unspoken behind it to read into— positive or negative.
Stalkers will obviously read into your actions with the worst possible interpretations, but maybe the rest of us are also guilty of reading too deeply into your behaviors, which is why it’s so easy for you to surprise people with takes that are actually very straightforward.
