I dont think ff14 community in general know what kiwi farms is, for all they know he could be talking about a player or FC. Man imagine the poor fellow that names himself KiwiFarms unaware of us.

They've returned with the same party finder ad on Crystal

CevicheLemon (who you may know as someone who makes XIV comics and then a shitpost version of them on r/shitpostxiv) recently did a census on RPers on the Crystal Data Center.

Discuss or something.

Even among troons, troons are a minority
Ok, looking through the comments.

In ORIGIN the part that says Yanxia is supposed to say Nagxia! Woops
Radz-At-Han characters were included!...Sadly there was so few they ended up in the "other" pile

Magic as a category:
It was people who solely were dedicated to magic or magic-adjacent things.

So basically people who were things like mages but had literally nothing else going on for a job. Their job being in broad strokes just the pursuit of more magic.

Theres a dif between being a Black Mage for the Immortal Flames..and being a Black Mage who's entire life is dedicated to the pursuit of mastery of the Black Mage's art

Hope that makes sense! It was a category that only existed because of the sheer number of people who fell into it.

Au Ra
The majority of female Au Ra were Raen while the majority of male Au Ra were Xaela, both did heavy lifting for each others side.
"Any politicians in the military/gov category?"
Almost none, most I recall were all military
"Ruby Sea?"
It was among the rarest ones actually, ended up in Others due to being so rare it didn’t even break 0.5%
"Adventurer/Merc?"
Difference between Adventuring for the sake of adventuring and being a person who only does things for gil as a hired gun or merc etc etc...
"Garlemald"
I was honestly very shocked they were so high up...especially the Garlean Empire

A lot of the Garlean Empire rpers were just people who were born under it's occupation and then fled/defected/served/etc... though, it really inflates the numbers.

Shocked me how popular it was considering how few people actually RP as pureblooded Garleans + their reputation.
"muh privacy concerns"
  1. I tried to collect during both morning and evening timezones in the US timezones, but also every now and then I'd pop on during EU/AUS times when I happened to be up at those hours. It made sense to do it this way, considering most players in Crystal are US-timezone due to it being an American
  2. I did not, I was very strict about only collecting the 4 basic things you see on the infographic. I never went to any venues or any non-public places where there'd be a reasonable expectation of privacy.
  3. I always announced in shout chat if I was in the area conducted a census, as well as a detailed summary of why, what for, and how to tell if I was possibly collecting you. I did not let people opt out in the first week or so, but after that I changed my mind and let anyone opt out by pming me.
  4. It doesn't account for if someone was on an alt or not, all that matters to me is that they were actively RPing in a public space, and thus, the character wasn't just some unused alt collecting dust on a shelf.
"nobility/royalty where?"
Most of those ended up in Mil/Gov or in Others, since most nobility rpers also were some kind of knight of a nation or government official or even just an adventurer

[COMMENT REMOVED BY JANITOR]
I think you're looking for the ERP census, this one doesn't factor that kind of stuff in or really share the same spaces
Leaving this comment out of the spoiler since it's what most of you are going to ask about.
"why is gender simplifed"
I simplified genders partially because I didn't want people to weaponize it against minorities. I hope you understand, if people weren't so vile about it due to the current climate then I'd of happily included a more in-depth breakdown.

I *think* this means that the 2.2% is just people who identify as nonbinary or genderfluid, with troons and poons being sorted into the gender they "identify as".

Oh that is what i assumed, but i thought it was funny that even the troon infested community only has 2% of troon characters

Oh that is what i assumed, but i thought it was funny that even the troon infested community only has 2% of troon characters
First off, it has a lot more than 2.2% because from what I can see, this doesn't include binary trans characters.
(Side note, where would you even draw the line in a world where fantasias literally exist? Would characters who drank one to biologically become the opposite sex count as trans?)
Second as mentioned earlier, this only includes people who were out in public RP scenarios, it doesn't include people inside venues so that skews the type of people who would be out there in that situation.
Third, excessive genderspecialism is a trait most associated with gen alpha/late gen z AFABS, and MMOs (especially subscription ones) mostly have an audience of millenial/early gen z players and skewed slightly towards males.
Fourth, a large number of trans people who make characters to live vicariously through actually make cis characters because of dysphoria. This is why "Body Type A/Body Type B" is objectively retarded pandering.

There are several factors going into this that don't make it a good judge of characters.

EDIT: yeah i was right

I come across these retards way too fucking often.

Recently it was a Leveling Roulette for Sastasha, tank was pulling mobs one by one, I checked their player info and their Paladin is a level 32 with recent gear, so I thought that I should give a little push and pull a new mob as soon as the ones aggroed are close to clearing, not a single word from the tank.

Reaching the final boss I pulled it and only then the tank and their DPS friend sit at the back and bitch about my pulling and bitch about how hard it is to tank, I was about to fucking blow as I killed the boss together with the healer, instead I acted confused about the role's difficulty and just left the instance.

I hate the tanks that just throw a tantrum if they arent the ones pulling enemies. All the tank had to do is to grab is agro with a single button, yet he didnt and the bard died. I get that doing multiple pulls isnt a requirement to play the game at its core, but it makes the dungeon faster to finish and thus respecting the time of the other players. Also i believe the game does a shit job at teaching new new tanks how to do multiple group pulls and boosting their confidence to actually tank.

I've been informed of fresh new community drama, and I'm gonna greentext this one because I'm suffering impending brain damage attempting to formally write it out.

⚠️ reference sheet theft ⚠️

>A limsa catgirl player (nyanne, 4000+ followers) publicly calls out and accuses a small-time limsa catgirl (curebots, 150 followers) of plagiarizing their character commission sheets. (OP's are the 2 on the left, the accused thief is the 2 on the right). This is in order to "make the public aware."

1739146485741.png

>OP then posts the DMs of this person who is obviously way too kind and naive for their own good, and tried their best to diffuse this immediate accusation of theft.

  • Note 1: that when OP says "apologized," she is referencing where curebots kindly stated "I apologize for causing you any distress regarding this," not an apology which would indicate admission of guilt.
  • Note 2: OP immediately limited the replies to prevent anybody from commenting, unintentionally foreshadowing where this ordeal is headed.
1739146537620.png

Here's the sheets. If you're confused, the OP is in essence claiming ownership of *the concept of a character reference sheet with details.* Something that has existed in communities for original characters for over 20 years, and a hundred years if you want to go back as far as animation companies. I'm not joking. OP (left) accuses the victim (right) of art plagiarism and theft. If you think the left and right barely look alike, I've got good news for you: you're not crazy.

>As this tweet starts getting noticed by the community, OP proceeds to get ruthlessly BTFO in the Quote Retweets as people of all genders, races, persuasions, personalities, servers and datacenters cry out in unison: "WTF???????"
>Hundreds of fans and players point out the insanity and unfairness of the accusation, and furthermore, the way OP framed this entire thing to play victim after harassing somebody.
>Instead of giving an apology to curebots, OP migrates to bluesky and continues to play the victim, claiming it's to "step away from the yucky and icky feelings im [sic] experiencing right now." (These very foreign feelings: guilt and remorse!)

>The community continues to react to this perfect display of why players avoid teleporting to Limsa Lower Docks whenever possible.

Ah, now there's the classic XIV player entitlement I'm used to.

Thank god i only have to deal with things top side.

Also maybe im dumb and blind, but i dont see how that person is plagarizing the other's art. Is this the artsy part of the community and if it is, hows that part in terms of degeneracy or are they the typical artsy people?

They aren't. They accused the person of copying a 'character reference sheet' which usually depicts color palette, how the character looks from front/back/side/etc. and any other information/details.

Used a ton in concept art and it'd be like accusing a college student of plagiarism because they used the MLA Style Guide.

FFXIV is already a land devoid of intelligent life.
The FFXIV steam page is several degrees of separation stupider than that.

Also fuck tanks, healers, and all other enablers who act like this. Kick them and ban the lot of them.

Everybody says this, but you can't initiate kicks until the 15 minute mark and it basically requires 3/4 people to agree to the vote. And if you're dealing with two shitters out of four people, that probably isn't passing. Best you can do is eat the lockout penalty, which is really shitty.

Unfortunately, in practice, you're correct. Thankfully I don't encounter many like this myself, because I already spend enough time in lockout jail from leaving crystal tower without leaving dungeons too. Being a healer main probably helps, because I can just solo carry the dungeon if the tank misbehaves.
