I don't think any of the singular policies is evil, but the accumulation of them is. Also, this isn't just time off, but paid time off, for a dead cat. I do wish we had more time off similar to Europeans, but I think that should come naturally through labor putting pressure on employers. That can happen after we fix our immigration/regulation issues and get to full employment.
I think this can be explained by homework. Girls tend to be more conscientious then boys. They do homework more often and better than boys and men. Homework is factored into a grade more than ever, and girls are more likely to do it. That doesn't mean they're aren't smart women, just fewer of them compared to men. And many of these women who are high achieving, got there through a more "work" focused talent than a "skill" focused talent. That's why when they defend themselves they say they "worked hard" and I'm sure many did. (not all) However the best person for the job isn't always the person who worked the hardest for it. That doesn't mean that hard working women don't have a place within the work force.
Touch grass. It is healthier than speculating a very wildly diverse class of people who happen to enjoy posting on a forum.
