They don't see themselves the same way as Anglos because they aren't Anglos. Afrikaners (boars) are the descendants of Dutch settlers who moved to the region prior to the British conquest. Most Afrikaners weren't even part of the British empire/anglosphere until about a decade prior to the first world war.

Any that move to America of course are going to feel as outsides/separate, but given America's long tradition of assimilating other whites (all of Europe at some point), including other Dutch, I doubt they wouldn't be assimilated within a generation.
