Roberts has been susceptible to the pressure of Democrat politicians and their vooters increasingly attacking the Court as illegitimate because of rulings they disagree with. Republican politicians and their vooters are the ones doing the lion's share of the propping up of the Court as a legitimate institution anymore. I would hope that Republican politicians are smart enough to point out to Roberts that if he loses them and their vooters he's going to be leaving the Court alone, naked, and afraid out in the cold
