The issue is that it's a very specific claim. I've seen it made both here and on RPG Codex, where I've also seen another similarly specific claim that if you chose to stay loyal to Theresa later in the game she sends Henry a letter about her getting married to someone else. You'd think they'd have been substantiated by now. Especially over there where more of the posters are actively playing the thing. I'd give it a week to be sure, though.

I'm not defending the game, but if you played the first one you would understand why Henry cares considering it's specifically one side that killed his village/family/girlfriend.
I am curious though what is the ending of the game and the main goal of this one as no one actually talks about it?

The main goal of this game was supposed to be Henry putting his quest for revenge to rest. As for the ending of the game, I've looked it up and apparently your actions throughout the second game get tallied up and Henry has a dream where his dead parents show up, list off Henry's deeds and are either proud of him for being a good boy, or ashamed of him if he wasn't honorable enough and is not repentant about the dishonorable things he did. If he is, they forgive him. So basically the game just judges your character at the end. Besides that, the game ends with Henry and Radzig fucking off into the world and during the credits Sigismund has a scribe listing off to him all the shit that went wrong and how he's been epically owned, and that's it. I think it fucking sucks ass that no matter how you choose to steer Henry in the game, you don't get an epilogue for him about how his life turns out in the future based off of your actions, but I guess the saving grace of the open endedness is that Vavra doesn't insert any unnecessary gay shit there.

This could be the most based game ever and I would still be pissed. It's amazing how you had two games with bad endings and the second game doesn't have the excuse they ran out of time/money and had a sequel that could hypothetically give you a complete ending.

One of the worst diversity inserts I have ever seen, I have no idea what they were thinking.

I have been doing more sidequests in the starting map, and they are mostly solid, like in the first game.
There is one though where you have to resolve a romeo and juliet situation for the gypsy chieftain, and while they are mostly cordial, their culture is not really romanticized.
They come off as being obsessed with family honor, get salty about being stereotyped as thieves when they obviously are, they even have a fence in their camp, and the chieftain is a stubborn and superstitious fool.

I am mostly fine with that depiction, it seems fair to me.

I think something like this is what's going to kill this game gradually, similar to Starfield. Lots of minor grievances building up to a large mound of shit. Sure, I disliked the game from the outset due to its content, but stuff like this is what will get through to most people. Story complaints, gameplay quibbles, etcetera.

There was a quest in Starfield where a cryogenically frozen crew finally reached their destination, unthawed, and discovered the planet already populated because technology leapt past them. In-game, your only options are to upgrade their ship engines to find them a new planet to settle, or allow them to settle the planet as indentured servants, with no option to kill the CEOs on the planet's surface and let the colonists settle or just pay their way to let them live on the planet. People also get annoyed with every companion in that game to the point people opt into taking the starter robot companion since he's the least annoying.

Because it's not 'racist' or 'homophobic', this kind of criticism will be allowed to persist in most places and eventually opinions may sour, just as they did with Starfield. Remember, that game was defended in spite of its obvious flaws and heralded as GOTY for some people (Actman, ChrisRayGun, etcetera) before being quietly forgotten about. Shitty writing and a lack of choices will do more damage to the game than its anachronisms.
