I think it's about time that QAnon finally has a postmortem and why it should be a reminder that you should never believe in unhinged conspiracy theories that hold no water.
I will say that it is true that people in power (whether its in politics or in the entertainment industry or being the leader of a religious community any other high position of power) often abuse their positions of power to do some pretty fucked up things to people (whether it's a classic case of a Catholic priest diddling a choir boy or a Hollywood actor getting caught sexually abusing a minor or a politician grooming minors on the Internet).
But why is QAnon bullshit? Simple, ask yourself this question. Why do you need to wait two more weeks for the goods?
For a conspiracy theory to hold any water, it needs to be grounded in reality. If you bother to look up something along the lines of 'Top Ten Conspiracy Theories that Turn Out to be True" then you notice how they often involve money and power and never the supernatural; most importantly it's easier for a conspiracy to be covered up if there is less people involved.
The reason why Jeffery Epstein got caught is because he had far too many victims that it was only a matter of time that his sins would be on display for the world to see while something like MKUltra would be covered up fairly easily because not that many people were involved where the American government could keep a tight grip on the flow of information in regards to this infamous CIA-backed project where the public would not know about MKUltra until it was finally declassified through an FOIA request in the late-1970''s and the public wouldn't get the full truth until the 1990's (the same applies to other well covered up conspiracy theories that the public would not know about until the last minute like the Apollo program which was a space program to have the first man on the Moon and the Manhattan Project which was a secret military project that developed the nuclear bomb and ended World War 2).
If QAnon was real, by now we would have victims come forward to spill the beans. By now we would have another Epstein on our hands. It's the same shit we've seen with the Satanic Panic of the 1980's (if you're old enough to remember that) where the Religious Right made outlandish claims of how daycare centers are the chains of command for Devil worshiping child molesters but couldn't back this up with concrete evidence.
The lesson here is that if you're going to believe in conspiracy theories then believe the ones that are more grounded in reality. Anything that involves the elites wanting money and power are usually likely to be true, anything involving the supernatural (like QAnon or Flat Earth or demons) or aliens (the Reptilian conspiracy theory) or just plain impractical (like the Chemtrails conspiracy theory) can be safety dismissed as complete bullshit (especially if it involves a grifter wanting you to wait two more weeks).
