Im so glad we can start talking about this shit openly now, ITS BAD, people need to know
is that over $410,000,000 on vaccine injuries paid out by the federal government?

sorry super off topic for a sec, you guys ever go into the live chat? I just got a txt at the top of the page that made me laugh and I wanted to post about it but felt this wasent the place

Decided to post about it in the gen live chat and those guys are like 5 or 6 joe bidens talking about the good old days. I felt crazy going in there any trying to have a coherent discussion.

sorry for the off topic rant, check on our poor live chatting kiwis, "stop that, get some help"

Bros this retirement mine shit sounds like some fallout level shit. Wtf is going on
Continuity of Government.

The theory, originally, was by having these records, in the event of a catastrophe (read: nuclear war), you could go through the bins and select certain skills and age ranges, look at where they were retiring too, and maybe get together teams.

It's why back in the day certain skillsets that worked for the government were put on farm way out in the middle of nowhere, or nice houses in small nowhere towns. But they stopped all that in the 1990's.

Well, except for the FBI and the CIA and the NSA and the... (you get the idea)

I spend more time than most in lefty spaces just lurking to see what the price of bread is so to speak.

I can explain this dumb shit we keep seeing with "president Elon"

they genuinely think that their best way of combating trumps policy's via Elon is to damage his ego so bad by calling Elon the president so Trump gets jealous hearing someone else being called president and fires him so they call him president again.

Time magazine getting in on that was just sad.

The key reason it doesn't work is that Trump is doing so much stuff that is nothing to do with Elon. Yet they just live in their bubbles. Whatever bubble and fake Trump they believed in 4 years ago.

"Trump threw his plate of Spaghetti at the wall"

"That totally sounds like something he would do."

Is only much worse now.

I was watching a video of protesters with some guy obviously clowning around and they don't seem to notice. Makes me thing the protests are arranged by interests against Elon's mission. With most people just larping a protest.

These aren't serious people.

A good idea...but there has to be a better way to manage that than what we are doing now.

The claim that Hoover did nothing is a lie. It's not an alternative interpretation; it is literally a lie. Hoover began trying to intervene immediately to prevent a market correction, subsidize failing industries, and public works projects (a certain dam on the Colorado River being the most famous example), all the things that FDR would do later. Really, the only thing he didn't do that FDR did was implement price controls. The fact his interventions weren't working is part of why FDR's campaign, which promised to balance the budget and cut taxes, helped him win the White House.
This.
The idea that Hoover "just let the Depression happen" and that FDR "fixed" it is a Democrat myth that has unfortunately been forced into the public consciousness, in order to justify Government overreach and social programs.
In reality, Hoover's mistake was just as you said: Unlike Harding/Coolidge, he wasn't hands off with the economy to let it self-correct. FDR's New Deal was just a continuation and extension of Hoover policies (that at best did nothing, and are often argued to have just made things worse), and what got the US out of the Depression was not social programs, but WW2.

I was watching a video of protesters and I honestly think most are arranged or just larping.
These aren't serious people.
When have they ever been serious? When have they never been larpers? Even when antifa was at the height of its madness during Trump's first term. It was all staged, and artificial, and done by people with trust funds playing revolutionary.

The idea of having someone who is willing to get their hands dirty and can also be politically disposable to their patron when pushes to come shove is a classic Machiavellian tactic. Musk is no mere minister though, he is a powerful donor who has much to gain financially by working with the Trump administration and may be willing to throw his money elsewhere if he isn't at the very least entertained.

Eventually Musk will have gone over every agency and maybe there's reason to have him do a second pass over them again, but eventually DOGE won't have much to do and keeping it around would be a waste. Mothball it or let it hibernate for a time and let Musk work with NASA. I think Trump is going to want something truly big for our 250th anniversary and announcing manned missions to Mars is exactly that. It's also something that Musk is incredibly interested in and will keep him occupied for the the next decade that it would take to pursue.

The more I think about it, the more brilliant I see Gulf of America is.

The only recourse they have is for the next Democrat President to reverse it. But the optics would be horrible. They would have to actively honor Mexico, a shithole narcostate, and put it above America, all for librul woke goodboy points.

Imagine during the Democratic primary debates in 2028, when they ask each candidate "If elected, will you change the Gulf of Mexico back to it's correct name?" That gives the Republicans a ready made soundbites for an attack ad "Candidate Blah Blah HATES America!, Candidate Blah Blah wants to honor another country, Mexico, by renaming the Gulf of America in Mexico's honor!"

There is literally no good answer for that question for a Democrat candidate--say no and piss off your base, say yes and piss off the swing voters.

Also of note, despite the fact that I don't type it a lot, whe I type "Gulf of" in my Droid, "America" comes up as the next suggested word, before Mexico!

They always do this, it's like clockwork. Turn up the fucking hysterics to 11 and tardrage like, well, tards. It's all so calculated, so predictable, so very tiresome.
It's always the liberal churches that can get away with political rhetoric. You can call for violence against a Republican administration, but don't you dare burn the Quran.
