I think I posted this theory earlier in the thread but I think it could be because of Anisa's jealousy of other women. Maybe she's always nagging him about other women looking his way. As you said, Anisa just wants to be alt and trendy. She also gets little psychotic breaks that make her want to alter her appearance in hopes that this will be the dopamine hit that finally fixes her. This happens a lot with BPDs.
For Ian it all started as wanting to larp as a breadtuber. Since he knows nothing about anything, he thought just looking like a clone of Kurtis Conner and making lobotomizing family friendly content would be enough to join their ranks. When it comes to the recent head-shaving however, while that's something he's never had issues doing I do think nowadays he does it to annoy Anisa, based on her reaction the first time it happened. He returned from Australia after filming with Chad and Max completely bald, and when Anisa realized she immediately went on discord to covertly whine about it ("Ian shaved his head This is so sad I know so many of you guys didn't want him to shave his head") and then when they recorded the pod episode of the week, Anisa says that no one wanted him to shave his head, that everyone in the discord misses the mullet, that maybe she should also buzz her hair off again and that she looks ugly with short hair anyway so nothing would be lost (Ian meekly assures her she doesn't, of course), etc. Paraphrasing but that's basically what went down, and yet Ian shaved it all off again the second hair was visible. It might actually be a passive-aggressive way to get back at her. I also just suspect our guy is balding too much for his liking and this is how he hides it + he makes himself look ugly as an ironic self-deprecating "joke", which has been discussed itt before.

There's a shit ton of "beautifying" uncanny filters that women use. That one from what I can see is meant to make your lips and eyes bigger, smooth out and whiten your skin and also give you some makeup. On a regular woman it might look slightly less strange but Anisa's face shape and short hair aren't helping so she looks like a sad pooner.

I disagree with the people who paint iDubbbz as a victim and am of the opinion that his career would have eventually tanked one way or the other, regardless of Anisa's involvement. I don't attribute his personality changes to her completely, she encouraged his own tendencies that were always there and he knew what he was getting into.

He used to be more concerned with his privacy and kept their relationship more on the down low at first which was a smart decision, but it was public that she is in a relationship with him during the production of multiple Content Cops. The Tana one was literally her idea so she wasn't always the way she is now. While there were always people who disliked her since the Raihnbowkidz days, his fans were not hating on her, most of them didn't even know they were together. Anisa changes because of her personality disorder and obsession with following trends, her political views are whatever happens to be profitable at the time. Some of you might remember the brief phase where she attempted to become an edgy anti-SJW content creator while dating Ian (which flopped just like everything she does).

If there was an alternative timeline where he ended up dating a regular woman who has zero influence over his channel, he would have still fallen off because he is rightfully insecure about his ability to entertain. He was the most appreciated while talking shit about others and when he stopped doing that, the audience realized he is not a charismatic, interesting, funny person on his own. iDubbbz initially excelled at social climbing, he was able to get names like PewDiePie and Post Malone for cameos in his videos. It does not surprise me to see him wanting to associate with successful woke influencers in LA nowadays because he has always been a clout chaser, a failed one at that. Before his relationship with Anisa, he was simping for Lilly Singh who was a much bigger YouTuber that was famous for producing unfunny normieslop with woke messaging. Him crushing on her seemed random, his fans back then thought he was joking but he even clarified he was not and tried to use his connections to meet up with her to no avail. He named her alongside Zoella, another YouTuber who was very popular at the time, while talking about "hot chicks he would never make a Content Cop on" once. What I've gathered from these examples is that Ian's dream was to date an e-celeb with over ten million subscribers but none of these women were interested in him, so when a Z-list streamer with BPD gave him attention and pretended to have a similar personality to him, he believed she was Not Like Other Girls.

One of the things that are absolutely Anisa's fault, however, was her pattern of freaking out whenever Ian steps outside on his own for collaborations. She did it when he went to the UK for the RiceGum diss track which was a huge factor in him stopping making Content Cops, she did it when he went to Australia to film Cold Ones. This was career destroying, because his most influential content was highly dependent on working with other people. He is extremely boring by himself. Now, he does everything with Anisa and she is even more boring than him, so of course people stopped watching.

It is the case with all content creators that their window of success is limited. There are some that manage to pivot and stay relevant through meta-shifts but when the wind changes it simply kills most of them. MaxMoeFoe is a close and relevant example of someone who is very good at pivoting and managing to make new relevant and successful content very consistently.

I think Ian had way more life in his career before Anisa got her fingers fully under his skin. The Documentary angle was a functioning shift in content, even Creator Clash was initially decent. I would never disagree that 'it takes two to Tango' in any interpersonal disaster. They are both culpable in unique and sad ways.
