I got a restaurant in my area, (not gonna say the name for op-sec. It’s regional) that switched to machines for ordering inside. So you go in, click on the food you want, wait for it to come out, and then sit down all lonely in a booth. That little interaction with a cashier may not seem like a lot but it adds a little to the experience. So fucking soulless.

I'd chalk that up to them being the only big chain that isn't publicly traded and not needing to debt max to expand. Means you don't have to obey both main sources of quality cutting in shareholders and the demands of the investment and banking firms.
Not even just fast food places; nowadays if your kid wants to go in the Chuck E Cheese play place in my area, you have to pay extra on top of admission/tokens/food for grippy socks. And not just any socks with grips will do - you have to shell out $10 for special CEC socks. I assume this is all insurance-based as well. Kids slip in their socks in those things, bangs head, parents clean the place out. I hate current day sue-happy culture. Its nerfed everything for children.

No. The most logical option is that it's a very difficult aircraft to fly. The majority of the F35s that have crashed with any regularity are F35-Bs, the V/STOL variant. The B is a massively more complex machine compared to the -A and -C variants, with a great many more things that can go wrong. The Hawker Harrier, which it was designed to replace, had similar issues throughout its lifetime. A pilot has to be at the very top of his game to fly such a jet, even with the advances in automation present in the F35, because it is an inherently unforgiving aircraft to fly at the best of times. Place one in the hands of a rookie or someone who isn't up to scratch and things will go terribly wrong.
In the early 2010s there was a massive scandal where a supplier was buying parts from China but certifying them as American made. These aircraft electronics ended up in everything from commercial airlines to fighter jets.
