"de facto costumer" is correct. I got this guy a lot of wigs and costumes and props to help him differentiate between characters if he was going to do that gambit where every character is played by the same guy so you need items and mannerisms to distinguish them. Wigs and clothes was a primary way I gave Nick some more options when it came to costuming characters who were supposed to look and act different.

I didn't want to give receipts for specific wigs and clothes and shoes and stuff I gave him for the purpose of wearing in videos, but I got him a lot of those and sometimes even bought myself equivalent times for funsises. Give me a bit of benefit of the doubt. He also made fun of many items I gave him to the point of a breach. He made fun of my engagement ring like three times too many and I told him so.

Personally I think his best video is Incels, and much of that is because it’s not directly related to trans topics and thus feels less controversial and deluded, and so it actually makes sense regardless if you’re a trans cultist or not.

I like to believe any sort of financial incentive to put up with me was pretty quickly obliviated by the vast number of Patreon people willing to give him something for nothing. My contribution was timely but minimal compared to theirs. There was a friendship, even though we grew apart. Not an uncommon outcome tbh.

I remember Contrapoint's video about traps popping up in my Youtube recommendations a couple of years ago. I liked the meme, so I gave it a go and immediately sensed that there was something wrong with him. In every frame it was as if he was showing off, making faces, almost as if he was about to start masturbating to his reflection in the camera lenses, while the main idea of his video faded into the background. I watched about five minutes of it and then turned it off, thinking that this guy was a very mediocre drag queen parodying a pretentious lib essayist.

Only later did I find out that this happens to be one of the most influential "female" icons of the left-wing side of YouTube.

Most of his fans probably watch him for his androgynous Marlyn Manson-if-he-was-a-blonde-hooker face, ain't no way anyone would seriously listen to his kermit voice for that long otherwise.

Yeah. My dad is a corporate film director and freelance documentary filmmaker, so what I learned from him, plus being friends with a bunch of film students in college and helping out w their projects, is why I knew anything about anything to advise him about how to improve his YouTube channel.

I don't really disagree. Nick's first priority is always Nick. He wants everyone to love him, loving them back, not so much. What he hates most of all is being committed or beholden to anyone. I would have gladly done a lot more for his channel but he was explicit that he did not want that. Like I said before, he even hates working with a film crew, even though everyone around him advised him to get a film crew so he could make content faster, because that means he's accountable to other people for his production schedule.
