Marvel Cinematic Universe

I looked at the Marvel subreddit to scout out the seething and dilating going on, and someone was saying they thought Trump fans would like President Harrison Ford coz he turns into the Hulk and... that's cool?

It's going to be a disasterpiece, that's for certain. Disney is still wishin' and hopin' and prayin' for a four day of $95 million. Thursday night previews were $12 million, which is sub-Ant-Man 3 box office business. They might fall short of that $95 millllllllllion dollars, but if it goes under $80 million it will be a bomb that in normal circumstances would result in a crater where Kevin Feige's career used to be. For whatever reasons, though, Bob Iger has tolerated failure after failure at Lucasfilm, and it would be weird for him to show Feige the door and have posters of his face with the words "DO NOT ADMIT" plastered at the security desks to every Disney related studio and office after not failing as quite as bad as Kathleen Kennedy.

What happens on the next weekend will tell the story. Captain Blackmerica will probably see a major drop off in box office much like Ant-Man 3 did. It showed that Ant-Man 3 was a horrible bomb, there was no hiding that. Also like AM3, Captain Blackmerica has had bad word of mouth going around about it at this stage for awhile.

Marvel thought they had built a money-printing machine called the MCU and they could plug anyone into the lead actor slots and not really give a care about the story or the writing, and the MCU machine would automatically keep printing money like before. It turns out they got real lucky and the first string of lead actors were mostly (mostly) solid and appealing on the screen to audiences. The first "phase" of Marvel movies were little more than disposable entertainment, but they did help gradually build up the MCU brand and, this may be key, weren't bloated $300-plus million-dollar money pits of bad ideas, constant rewrites and laborious reshoots and again, starred people who appealed to a lot of audience members.

After building up the brand, Marvel/Disney should have kept their game up instead of going on autopilot and churning out a stream of content, like gray sludge coming out of a big nozzle at some sort of factory, in order to keep up with the autistic blueprints they developed for the "Marvel Phases", which seemed to assume that business would keep going on as before and that there was nowhere else to go but up.

Instead of big bankable actors with star power, they have been relying on people like Mackie, who is at best a supporting role actor, and the trembling, quavering Ford cashing another check that he probably has trouble keeping up with ("Am I shooting the Yellowstone prequel or some entry in a franchise I used to star in next?") Thunderbolts will probably be another big bomb, since it looks like they took a single episode of one of those MCU streaming TV shows nobody watches and stretched it out (like a rubber band to the point of almost snapping) to feature length, and it's full of bland, poorly developed characters and actors nobody gives a crap about.

Some of them are still coping with the film's inevitable failure.

Aren't the only 2 other black actor lead marvel movie the 2 black panther movies

The first one made over half a billion dollars overseas and that's without the rest of the world having this weird obsession with Africanising African American culture (despite black America having seven shades of fuck all to do with African culture besides pan Africanisim which most actual Africans hate Americans trying)

The second one came smack bang in the middle of the current shit box office take and also didn't actually star the black panther on account that he unfortunately died and marvel decided to not recast despite rumours being panther was supposed to be this current avengers line ups big 3.

How did they explain that in universe anyway? Did they just say tchalla died on the way back to his home planet?

I just watched the new Captain America (pirated, of course, fuck Disney), and it's as bad as everyone says. It's so fucking boring. The jokes are shit, even for MCU standards, and the selling point of the Red Hulk was over before it could even start. They burned all that money for that?

Unfortunately Anthony Mackie is being comic accurate except is was Steve Roger doing this bullshit every time a Republican is POTUS.
Remember when they made Nixon in charge of a Government secret society? Literally the writer seethed at one of the most popular Presidents ever who was deposed by a secret society for threatening to expose them for killing JFK.

Not making Bucky the next Captain America was a huge L.
Bucky has a brief cameo. Apparently he is now running for “senator“.

So person with literal superhero strength is a senator and black man with nothing but a shield and jetpack is the superhero. Right.

Captain Wakanda is boring and has zero charisma.

Yer forgot to mention in my review that the jokes were not good. Captain Wakanda looked really uncomfortable with making them, like he could hear the audiences silence.

Can I just take a moment to remember the first two Captain America movies?

The First Avenger is the most underrated and underappreciated MCU movie, in my opinion. I absolutely love it, and I legitimately think it's in the higher tier of Marvel movies. This movie (and Iron Man 1) are the beating heart of the MCU, if you ask me.

And as for The Winter Soldier ... My God, it's still great. Marvel is simply unable to make a movie like this ever again, and it's sad.

Hell, they could have just used Madripoor ffs.

I stopped paying close attention to the comic side of things whenever Black Captain America and Lady Thor were actually introduced, but I heard that they recently made up a country to replace Vietnam for The Punishers backstory so that instead of fighting in sandboxes they could keep him in the jungle in stories.

They can make fake Singapore and fake Vietnam, but can't make a fake China I guess.
Funny enough Madripoor has appeared in the MCU. Bucky, Sam, Sharon, and Zemo went there in TFATWS.

Its going to be absolutely horrific when F4 and the X-Men appear in the MCU because its gonna be bloated as fuck.

And I can already tell the writers of Thunderbolts* don't know anything about this and so that movie won't acknowledge this in anyway.
Bucky is shown at the party Val is attending with her assistant [who, being named Mel, is definitely a poorly disguised Songbird.] His being a senator is most likely a cover. Similar to Nat going undercover several times. Apparently he was originally to be spying on Val before joining the team. Let's see if that happens. Speaking of Val, she wanted the nukes from Wakanda in BP2 for...reasons apparently.

I have absolutely no idea how Sentry is going to play into all of this though. As far as I know there's no reference made about him in the MCU until this film (?). I'm glad they got Bill Pullman's son instead of DEI Asian.

how tf could Japan do anything that they did in the movie with Article 9 in the way? is the MCU universe Japan ruled by an Ultra-Chuddie who repealed Article 9?

The Japan thing was turbo retarded. If only there were some sort of actual geo-political rival in that region who could have been a foil to the Yanks.... But of course we can't do that and risk pissing off the Chink box office, even though I'm pretty sure they're not watching this shit anyway.

I mean they could've just had the role of Japan be Mynamar. Unironically that's the one Asian country you can use as a villain that won't offend anyone aside from Juntaniggers lol

They kind of border the Indian Ocean.
