as mentioned earlier, that's just what conscious (twilight) sedation is. it seems weird because it is, the patient can lie there talking all sorts of nonsense and following your instructions but none of it is getting recorded to memory so it's like it never happened for them.

The second photo was pre surgery for the arms. We havent seen the afters for the arms yet. Presumably they will wait until she is healed and the swelling is down if they do them

Yeah, I don’t think you guys were saying I was lying. I just wanted to make it clear that I was not misremembering the situation at all, since it is a very fresh thing. She did not explain anything specific other than she said she was healing well with it with one more surgery to go but did not mention which one. She also did not appear to have any bandages or compression on the arms during filming unless they were hiding under the shirt, but her arms did not appear bulky underneath the sleeves, nor did there appear to be any bulging underneath or any hint of material underneath

Purple actually isn’t “real” in a way. Ana is referring to something smart and interesting for once. She certainly is just parroting something she saw someone else say however.

She’s referring to the visible light spectrum. This is of course an oversimplification but the top of the spectrum is red and the bottom is blue and the rest of the colors (besides purple) exist in the middle. While the secondary colors of green (yellow and blue mixed) and orange (yellow and red mixed) actually exist on the spectrum as their own wavelengths, purple does not have its own wavelength. You are seeing red and blue wavelengths at the same time and your brain creates a color for it.

I suspect one of her bandages has slipped. That’s a difficult area to get bandages to stay put. The incision should run from the armpit to the elbow as a minimum. Also the bandaging doesn’t usually cover the entire wound as there should be drains to take the fluid build up away. These can be pretty discreetly placed, although we don’t know if Anna has/had them. Bolero style compression sleeves are easier because they aren’t affected by gravity like bandages are.

That’s why for actual loose skin removal surgeries, CREDIBLE plastic surgeons normally want to see a patient weight stable for 12 months prior to scheduling surgery. Gaining weight back happens all the time when lifestyle habits haven’t been modified. Anna has been set up by these quacks, which was easily done because they told her what she wanted to hear.

It’s interesting she will tell everyone she has rare obesity genes but cannot tell you what genes she is talking about. There are actual genetic disorders like POMC deficiency due to specific mutations with the POMC gene. There is the monogenic obesity panel, is that the one she had before?

(Monogenic just means a single gene, some disorders only need one mutated gene to cause disease while others require two)

The thing about the disorders tested for on the monogenic obesity panel is they all have pretty severe issues such as intellectual disability, polydactyly, eye issues, kidney issues and so on. These are actually pretty awful genetic disorders. If Anna believed that she could have any of those without zero symptoms or clinical signs, she really has no critical thinking skills.

I’m curious as to what person/university/genetics dept is supposedly studying her genes and in what capacity, because Anna never elaborates on it.

As to @Chococat3012, my testing was completely free plus follow up free due to it being sponsored by a program. It was a skeletal dysplasia panel that tested 358 genes. Genetic testing has become a lot more affordable over time. Science can also detect novel mutations, which are mutations never previously reported.

There is no reason to indicate Anna has any rare genes. I think it’s made up and someone, likely a medical professional is feeding into it. She never uses anything like pathogenic, non pathogenic, VUS, or any genetic lingo to describe *what* was found exactly.

Yass! This is from oldschool cartoons or maybe some 90's sitcoms, definitely from TV.

Regarding genetic testing, I think this is not exactly problem with her genes being rare or not studied, it is just very expensive and uncommon to test yourself that way. I don't know in US, but in Europe it is both very expensive, when done within public healthcare waiting time is in years and just not the thing a doctor will prescribe (I mean "obesity genes" not some severe anomalies in children, pregnancy etc).
So it might be true that Anna's results are rare, but if we tested every other fat person who knows maybe every second person would have the same.
