DC circuit judge Chutkan rules on DOGE's side? Against the 14 Blue State Coalition?

Did I hop realities again and not notice?

Quotes:

“The order you’re requesting is incredible broad,” U.S. District Judge Tanya S. Chutkan said. “It would essentially bring government to a halt"

“We’re asking you to shut down a constitutional violation that we haven’t seen in this
country,” Kirschner said.

“You’re essentially asking me to shut down the government,” Chutkan said.
“I can’t give prophylactic TROs!” Chutkan eventually said.

WTF is going on...Chunky ruling against the Democratic Machine? How is that possible?

I had to re-read that several times to make sure. What a pleasant surprise. I'm sure the Dems are ready to disavow her and openly label her a house nigger.

Am I the only one that thinks RFK Jr trying to blanket ban mental health meds is gonna be a shitshow?
your concern trolling is dumb but it’s also an actual common opinion. it’s no accident that people associate “mental health” with “being prescribed SSRIs immediately and with no barriers”. that conditioning is how they started pushing tranny shit after all

A federal judge said 14 states who sued over the billionaire's "virtually unchecked power" in the administration needed to show more concrete harm.
They fucking love that phrase, it's been months since they've been parroting it.

I imagine some fear of either:
1. Trump having the public mandate to ignore the Judicial branch and just do whatever the fuck he wants, if he gets stonewalled
2. SCOTUS obliterating the power of the lower courts in regards to what they have over the Executive branch, if SCOTUS has a million appeals placed on it's doorstep
3. Public discontent at the public's vote being made powerless by unelected judges, ultimately shattering the illusion of the democratic process, if Trump just can't do anything

Perhaps they splurged because they got a lot of staples on sale last month and don't need to buy as much. Don't know, don't care.

Neither do I. That was just an attempt at providing an explanation as to why someone would have a problem with an EBT recipient, who theoretically should have used the money to cover essential needs, buying relatively expensive foods like steak and crab legs instead of beans and rice, oats, and cheap protein.

She's smart enough to realize that the plaintiffs are asking her to exercise power she not only does not have, she could never wield even in the hypothetical scenario that she would be allowed to try

We're at a point in our government (really in the whole country) that we have to work with what we got. We can't afford purity spirals and, sadly, even super high moral standards. What we need are people who are going to work within the law and aren't committed to destroying the country within. People who are willing to compromise and discuss things rationally while not agreeing on everything. People who also will stay in their lane and do their assignments. If they're not on board, they're fired.

While I would love for RFKjr to change his stance on abortion (and there are plenty of conservatives who agree with him, even thought they act like they don't) he wasn't hired to promote abortion. I can overlook his personal opinion, and pray that God changes his mind and heart.

The difference between this fake syrup shit and actual maple syrup is night and day. Maple syrup has a unique and somewhat earthy taste, and this just tastes like… misery.
Really late but holy shit you are correct on this. I was at the store the other day to get pancake stuff for my kids. And for some reason I decided to look at the label of the aunt Jemima (or whatever the fuck name they changed it to) syrup. My entire life I was under the assumption that bottled syrup has real maple syrup in it but with some additives. It’s just corn syrup with shitloads of sugar and food coloring. So I lubed up grabbed my ankles and bought a very small bottle of real syrup for 14 dollars. Kids loved it so it was worth it guess.

Yep. The fact that they were TRO's really pissed them off too I was reading one of them yesterday and the Judge was like "wtf why do this just go call the DOJ this is a waste of time"

Good lesson for the kids, too.
Sometimes in life you pay the same amount for a smaller size of something good, as you would for a large amount of something bad.

Yeah actual maple syrup has a very different taste. It was like culture shock the first time I had it.

Same for a lot of things. Buying cheap chink shit that breaks in a month or doesn't work properly at all ends up being way more expensive over time than shelling out triple the cost for something higher quality that will last longer.
I shelled out for quality linen and flannel sheets that will last me a good long while and it was worth it. Way better than cheap ass sheets made from artificial materials that won't last long because no effort was put into their quality.

It's a hard lesson to learn especially for poorer people but totally true. I bought some what an average person would consider very expensive chips when compared to shit like lays but you could just eat like a handful and it felt way more substantial and obviously tasted better and you weren't reaching back into the bag and continuing to eat.

All of that HFCS and other slop additives are just there to keep you coming back for more while ruining your body.

If poor want to splurge on a more expensive healthy item instead of a cheap healthy item occasionally I can't say that I care.
I have an issue with processed food and soda being eligible
I agree with you 100%. A lot of poor people will buy a quality item such as a bag of frozen shrimp and manage to stretch it for many meals by making stuff like jambalaya. I would also rather see poor people feed their kids the more expensive breaded fish filets instead of fish sticks, which are more breading than fish (I know, no way to legislate this, but still, don't side-eye ALL the seafood). Crab legs aren't that useful, but lump crab meat is, because it's much cheaper and you can make crab cakes or crab rolls and stretch it a long way.

I'd like to see the government review all current EBT vendors for shenanigans. I know there are food deserts where there's very little choice besides bodegas, but there is also a lot of fraud going on. Maybe limit EBT to stores that sell fresh food as well as processed garbage? Food deserts often have small meat markets, vegetable stands, and bakeries in them. Perhaps if they were allowed to become EBT vendors, they could carry a few more items other than just their specialty---AFTER they've been vetted.

I don't think RFK Jr should try to ban High Fructose Corn Syrup but I would be down with putting giant fuck off warning labels on the front of any product that contains it like with cigarettes.

WARNING! THIS PRODUCT CONTAINS HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP (HFCS)
This ingredient is known to cause diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, and fatty liver which can lead to liver cirrhosis

Also really hoping they'll ban pharma advertising soon
