Weird that Bobby is halfheartedly admitting that people get tired of stuff that's been running for too long. Weird also that he's admitting that the multiverse doesn't really click with people because it means there's not really any point in getting invested. There are no stakes because this is one of an infinite number of universes. Character deaths are meaningless if you can just yank a copy from another timeline. Plots can be resolved by just hopping into the exact place you need to be to get the MacGuffin. And if you try to raise the stakes by saying the whole multiverse will be destroyed, that's far too great a scale for the audience to wrap their heads around, so they just shrug and get bored.

Also, the fact they keep lowering projections in order to make this seem like a success is not lost on me. It is, apparently, lost on Bobby.

I like that Bobby seriously thinks that Black Panther getting that Best Picture Oscar nomination was anything but a bone thrown to the rabid MCU fanboys. In case you forgot, the Academy realized that although there was a sizable push for it to win Best Picture (because we wuz kangz), it would obviously never win because it's capeshit. So they tried to create a "Best Popular Film" category that it would pretty much be a shoo-in to win, but then the fanboys complained that they thought it wasn't good enough to win the real Best Picture category. So they canceled the proposed award, gave it a pity nomination, and then it lost. The only other nods it got were for various technical awards, and it only won three in total.

But yeah, that definitely meant that capeshit was finally hitting the bigtime. Bob is so fucking stupid.

And yes, they could have, and should have, recast the role after Boseman died.
