14 days for public schools in all 50 states to remove all DEI programming or lose federal funding.

States' rights, amirite?

Regardless of how you feel about progressives this is federal overreach and the premise it establishes is fucking grim.

If States want to fund DEI programs on their schools they can do it themselves, the Fed will just not fund it.

If you offered conservative and right wing states the choice to lose federal funding for immigration but the freedom to run themselves however they want it they would take it.

Nigga that reinforces state's rights, allowing them to do something while not having to support it.
That implies the most the federal government can do about unwelcome stuff is to not support it, instead of the alternative where the state has to pay for every educational insitution, which comes with the caveat that they'd now be legally forced to do what the federal government wants because there isn't a cutoff between the federal and the state.

If they can't stop funding schools then they can't stop having direct mandate on what's taught, because when you force them to have your money you also force them to do the fed's bidding with it.

Note: they're gonna lose federal funding regardless since the DoE is getting shut down, all the funding is now gonna be on the state level, meaning the people of each state, hell, even of each county, will have far more control over their money going to it.
DOE being gutted doesn't necessarily mean the fed money for schools goes away. Schools are also already primarily funded through city, state, and county taxes anyway so the federal funding is essentially a little extra on top for school districts, typically used for the principle to embezzle so they can buy a 100k luxury car somehow on a public servant's salary

You know what, fair enough. I looked at some stats on County/State Funding vs. Federal Funding per student per state and it is proportionally much smaller in more progressive states than in more conservative states. Like Mississippi's public schools in particular receive about a 1/3rd of their funding from the Fed but that area is so Red you'd think the entire state is a stuck traffic light.
Fair enough, I yield, it won't have as much of an effect in the areas it's most likely to affect. I'm sure there's some exceptions but overall this isn't nearly as bad as I thought it was.

I'm not a fan of the federal "tee hee we aren't mandating this nationally, we'll just make highway funding dependent on if you follow these guidelines" bullshit they've been doing for decades. But that's how we've been running the country ever since the New Deal. "The premise it establishes" is older than you are, and was last seriously challenged/affirmed at SCOTUS in 1987.

Trump doing this changes exactly nothing in relation to states rights or federal overreach. It's completely status quo. The only difference is Trump isn't a preening ivory tower conservative wannabe intellectual, refusing to play by the same rules as the other side because of a long-extinct theory. He's not one of the GOP "lose with nobility" class, he's trying to actually do something.

What's remarkable is that for all the fear-mongering about Trump being a fascist dictator, he's using boring old rules and institutions that the Democrats established long ago. He's just using them to different ends. Even DOGE, as radical as it appears, is just a renamed Obama agency, flexing its established powers to audit the departments it was already embedded in, instead of acting as secondary IT support. Using federal funding to promote "general welfare" policies is so established, it was old news before Trump even built his first hotel.

Trump is terrible at being a dictator. But he's good at maximizing the amount of chaos he can trigger within an ordered system. This might be the first Administration in political history trying to strike that balance, I am wracking my brain trying to think of a 2nd example.

If I was arguing pure theory, tearing down the entire government in a way even Trump would be afraid of, yes, I would undo the Spending Clause power creep and rewrite things to give states more power. But I'm not a revolutionary (yet). So I'm not going to whine that my side shouldn't use established power and norms to enact the will of the people, while the other side bulldozes norms to power creep during their Administrations.

I won't agree to fight with both hands tied behind my back, because I am not a lolbertarian.

I’m always unsure how I feel about the Epoch Times. In one hand. They’re a Chinese organization ran and operated by a cult. On the other hand, China genuinely hates their cult and has criminalized them, so they aren’t CCP affiliated. On Ike hand, they fund the majority of their stuff with the touring acrobatic show Shen Yun, which is feels like a Scientology convention with flips, on the other hand it’s the most anti-communist performance you can see in the modern day.

They are a perplexing organization.

Falun Gong is the modern-day Chinese equivalent to the Unification Church in Korea - basically a cult based around exploitation of its constituent members while taking advantage of general anti-Communist sentiments in the West for good publicity and influence among world leaders. This parallel runs even deeper when you realise that both Falun Gong and the Unification Church have their own right-leaning news publications (Epoch Times for Falun Gong, Washington Times for Unification Church).

It's important to remember that bad actors can and will exploit the old adage of "the enemy of my enemy is my friend." Are the writers for both Epoch Times and Washington Times beholden to the will of the cults who own them at all times? Not necessarily, but both outlets can and will shill talking points that their upper echelons want to promote, whether the journalists on the ground want to or not. You know you're watching a Falun Gong outlet when, at some point, the flow of journalism is interrupted by claims of organ harvesting targeted at Falun Gong practitioners along with references to "traditional Chinese culture" out of left field.

Falun Gong, at least in my opinion, is much more insidious than appearances let on because they have a stranglehold on seemingly legitimate anti-CPC news outlets. The news that Falun Gong outlets report on aren't necessarily fake news; many of the happenings within China that they report on are true. What often gets lost on foreign consumers of their media (i.e. anyone in the West) is that the CPC's tight controls on information means anything that makes its way to the foreign press is already commentated upon a thousand times over domestically before a draft's submitted to the editor. The language barrier also makes it easier to take things at face value, but that's a tangent for a different day.

Obviously, the CPC gets what it fucking deserves for not allowing freedom of the press: we're basically limited to state-run outlets like Xinhua, People's Daily, CGTN, and China News Service, Falun Gong-sponsored outlets like China Uncensored, China Observer, China Insights (from 2020-2024, anyway), and China Vision Times (among others), USAID-funded outlets like Voice of America and Radio Free Asia, once-free outlets from Hong Kong that now toe the party line like South China Morning Post, and what I like to call "foreign Chinese press" from outlets like United Daily News in Taiwan and Channel News Asia in Singapore.

Having said all of that: the opacity that the CPC forces the entire mainland to endure makes it immensely difficult to get a proper "feel" for what the true state of affairs is. This is an environment that doesn't just benefit the CPC, but also benefits cults who want to take advantage of the gullible and stupid. Never forget that no one is immune to propaganda, be it state-funded, cultist-funded, funded by USAID, or otherwise.

Lolcow Bex Gerber says Treasury now reads KF.

So how do I talk to the Treasury guy here? The IRS keeps sending me nastygrams about a tax bill I paid years ago, have proof I paid years ago, and the website and everyone I talk to at the IRS says it's a system glitch and I shouldn't be getting these, but they still keep adding late fees and interest penalties on the supposed owed amount, all on IRS stationery and not a scam, just a "glitch."

I feel like it's a bad use of my tax dollars to send certified letters to people like me who don't actually owe back taxes, and it sure freaks a person out to receive a notice like that. Even more fun if it happens in front of family and friends when the mail carrier makes you sign for it. I have low level anxiety that these "we will seize your assets" notices will end up resulting in $12k being wiped from my accounts and I'll have to sue to get it back from these morons. Please fire them and/or disband the entire IRS, so that taxpaying, family-having Americans like me who worked their way up from poverty and into a high bracket...the exact kind of thing America wants to encourage...don't have to live in fear of this agency's "mistakes" and "glitches" wiping out assets and savings.

Edward Coristine, if you're really here, getting rid of little glitches like that would be a real boon to real people.

(I know, I know, DOGE is not my personal army...)

Exactly one week after making this post, I received an official letter from the IRS saying that I do not owe them anything and the supposed tax debt was in error. Thanks, Mr. Coristine!

And sadly we aren't going to get anywhere on rolling the theory back by letting one side use it with impunity while the other loses with dignity. Truces are only reached when both sides have something to gain by stopping the fight.

Step 1: make up a set over reaching rules and departments that you're glad to give to "your guys"

Step 2: have the politicians you don't like use those very same rules against you

Time to stop crying and pissing and shitting yourself. Time to get into the burger suit.

They won't be booing when we lower the red leaf in Ottawa and raise the stars and stripes

It's funny they leveled criticism of the DOGE people based on their age for a few reasons, firstly us having congressmen in their fucking 80s or close to it (some of which need wheelchair assistance to get around as their bodies falls apart) and our founding fathers were largely in their 20s and 30s when they convened to craft one of the greatest founding legal documents ever written by man, would they just be "dumb kids"?
They don't want "younger faces", they want politically aligned younger faces.

I think it's more than fair. When you're brainwashing children and trooning them out without any parent outreach ON the taxpayer's dime, yeah, they need to play ball or suffer. It's not like they were not doing all of that with the government's blessing.

it's an interesting implication God mellowed out after getting his dick wet (spiritually).
My favorite explanation is the annoyed deal maker God.

The original covenant was all rules based. Not just the ten commandments but things like circumcision, don't eat pork, don't work on the sabbath, don't use mixed fabrics. Follow all those and you can go to heaven and be with God upon your death.
The only problem is that people would straight up break the covenant all the time, or they would use it as an excuse to not be good people, or would try to find loopholes.

Anyone who knows jews knows they make it their job to find loopholes to God's commandments like they're fucking lawyers and they'll get a big payout if they pull it off. Technically following the rules but getting what they want anyway.
So the new covenant removes all possible loopholes and makes it retard proof.

You only have to do one thing, truly repent and accept christ as your savior. That's it. You don't need to circumcise, you need a circumcision of the heart.
If it's the sabbath that doesn't give you an excuse not to save a drowning man just because you would count it as work.

And you can't fake it. The repentance and acceptance had to be real. You can't say it and not mean it. If Ted Bundy says he accepts christ after murdering 30 people he doesn't get a get out of jail free card because psychopaths are literally incapable of feeling guilt or a true desire to change.

But at the same time, if you mess up you can't use it as an excuse not to try, because so long as you genuinely regret it and want to change your slate can be washed clean.
NO LOOPHOLES.

And with that, the crafty lawyer shenanigans of jews resolved, the problem of people constantly fucking up and pissing him off fixed, he chilled out.
It's an amusing interpretation.

Look, I get that this is hard to understand for a lot of people, but between now and where we were during the inauguration a month ago, the notion of middle of the road politics has gone out the fucking window. I simply don't give a rat's anus about Trump playing fair anymore and neither should you. Trump could start black vanning judges, killing the DOGE protestors in the street with the military and I will 1010% support it. Heck, I'd even volunteer for it. The corruption being exposed by DOGE is so much worse than I ever imagined it would be in my wildest dreams. The only way this nation survives and goes on to thrive is a complete eradication of the Deep State on all levels from local government to federal. The idea that the Deep State will someday "do the same to us" is an irrational fear at this point because they've been doing us plenty damn harm already. This isn't funny anymore. The White House and Federal government needs a complete purge and this needs to be maintained for at least 50 years until these people die off.

I expected our government to be corrupt. I did not expect them to behind everything. I didn't expect entire news corporations to be fake government propaganda machines. I didn't expect how many of these fuckers were getting pieces of the pie. I didn't expect EVERYTHING about DEI and the Color Revolution to have as little to do with China as it has been. These people are evil. They are evil incarnate and they need to be eradicated. At this point, I can't be arsed to bother to care about States Rights when we have this level of corruption in our system. We need to do whatever it takes to get rid of these people and keep them out of politics forever.
