I'm tryin'. This next month will be the month I start putting a plan in action. I'll be the first to admit I'm exceptionally lazy when it comes to really learning anything new or doing anything for myself health wise. I dunno. Maybe watching the Left seethe and cope has got me properly motivated again.
You're not exceptionally lazy, you're demoralized. Jordan Peterson made it sound gay and Canadian (redundant), but incremental improvement is where it's at. Do one thing better today, no matter how small, "next month" is a cope. Do that for a month and you'll start to value yourself and see who you really are.
Take one of your reflexive habits and say no to that impulse just once. Even if you don't do something better to replace it, it'll start proving to yourself that the thinking part of you is what's in charge, not the feeling part that feels like you deserve shitty food, shitty visual input, degrading behavior.
A lot of us have been there, it's been tough especially since Lockdown. But that was the whole point of Lockdown, demoralization and learned helplessness, so don't let them win.
Everything in this thread is about Trump saying he's going to do something, then doing it, then talking about how beautiful it was that he did it. That's the ideal of America; whether it was always 100% true in the past, the names you know were all people who did that. There have always been doomers but no one gives a shit about them once their dooming time has passed.
